The birds softly chirped. The one of many sounds beside the crunching of dirt underneath your feet.
You wore a bright smile as you saw the giant stone walls surrounding the city of Mondstadt. You were so close to home.
The sun let it's delicate rays cast against the grass as it blew gently in the breeze. The wind caressing your face and causing ripples through your hair.
When you reached the bridge, you saw Lynn. You raised your hand in the air and waved at her.
Noticing your presence, she slightly gasped and waved back. It had been awhile since you were in Mondstadt.
You were travelling alongside Lumine. But after a close call in Inazuma that could've cut your life short. You decided to go back home.
Your foot made small pats against the pavement. The smell of the lake wafted to your nose, giving you deja vu.
You noticed Timmie leaning over the edge, peering down at the ducks.
Not wanting to get scolded by a literal child, you raced through the bridge. You definitely scared all the birds away, making Timmie turn.
"I'm telling my mom on you- wait (Y/N)?!" He squealed, recognizing the pattern on your clothing.
You giggled and skid to a stop at Mondstadt's gates. Swan was looking at you with an agape mouth.
"Hey Swan--!" You were taken aback when he stepped forward and enveloped you in a hug. Swan was one of your friends before you left.
After a few reassuring words that you would come back to catch up, and a few laughs, you stepped into Mondstadt.
Quinn greeted you and tossed you a sunsettia, which you happily took. Flora gave you a bright smile and gave you a Windwheel Aster.
A couple more people greeted you including Albedo and Sucrose who were at the Alchemy shop.
While it was nice to see all your friends again, you were only looking forward to one person.
Your footsteps seemed to grow heavier with each foot closer to the Knights Headquarters. You were a little nervous, you had to admit.
