I felt so bad for what I did that I barely slept last night just thinking. I could have escaped with him. We could be driving to California or even Mexico by now, but no. I fucked everything up. Even though it was considered my off day, I decided to work anyway. I got up and started to get dressed before leaving my room. My first instinct was to go straight to Kasper's room, and so I did. I paled when I noticed he wasn't there.

"Winnie, where's Kasper?"

"He's in the detention room."

"Okay, thank you."

At first, I walked slowly, not to bring any attention to myself before moving to a full sprint down the long, narrow hallway to the detention room, stopping when I saw the bright red door. Anxiety ran through me as I hesitantly opened it.

"K-Kasper?"

No response. I chewed on my lip as I moved closer.

"Kasper!"

The male jumped and quickly sat up, moving to the corner. That's when I noticed the bruises.

"Kasper, please... What did they do to you?"

He ignored me. I honestly didn't blame him. I wouldn't talk to me either.

"Come on... Let's go get you some food.."

He didn't get out of the bed for a few moments. When I reached out to help him, he flinched back and practically threw himself off the bed. He refused my help in every way I suggested, so instead of watching him painfully limp down the hall, I picked him up and carried him into the cafeteria, not caring about all the stares. I turned when I heard Neston yell:

"Why the hell are you caring about that thing!"

"One: He's not a thing. Two: Put your hands on him or any of these patients again and I swear to God you won't be leaving this place alive."

I gently sat Kasper in one of the seats. The poor boy could barely keep himself sitting up, let alone stay awake. My heart ached. I called for the cafeteria lady to bring in as much food as possible, and when she did, I sat in front of the broken male and watched him pick at his food.

"Kasper, you need to eat."

"Mmm.."

I did this. I fucking did this. How do I make this right?
