That night, she had an amazingly fresh, delicious and hot meal. The room was spacious, Ilaria could twirl around, dance and run in the room and she even had her own balcony, but the best part of the room was the bed. The bed felt like she was laying on clouds, it was soft and large, she almost didn't want get out of it.
Everything would've been perfect, if it wasn't for what her mind brought to her that night. Horrible memories were brought up in her sleep, making her wake up in fear while cold sweat ran down her back, chest and forehead.
Ilaria sprinted out of her bed and headed straight to the balcony. The sun hadn't risen yet and she was met with cold wind, brushing gently against her skin. She took a deep breath, then exhaled it through her mouth. "Why must my mind be so cruel to me?" Ilaria pondered to herself.
The young woman still had a few more hours before everyone else woke up, but instead of choosing to go back to bed, she chose to sit on the floor of the balcony and stare at the night sky. She must admit that the view of the sky brought her back to her old place.
"Ain't it pretty?" Ilaria smiled when a memory began playing in her head, bringing back the joy of hearing the familiar voice of a little boy.
"It sure is, Mal."
"Where would you wish to go to, Ria?"
The younger version of Ilaria sighed, "Anywhere, but here."
"Be more specific! Name the things you want to be in the place you'd want to go to!" The girl laughed at the persistent little boy.
"Alright, alright! I would want...a house nearby a lake, I want my own farm, I want people to treat us nicely and...lastly, I want a dragon to be my friend!" The boy laughed.
"That's silly! You can't be friends with a dragon!"
"Well, why not!?" Ilaria whined.
"Because dragons are big and bad and breathes fire!"
"I don't think all dragons are bad...I'd like to think that dragons are like us." The little grew quiet and Ilaria continued, "Because people misunderstood dragons...all they think about is how they are bigger than humans, how scary and that they breathe fire and have sharp teeth and claws, but really...dragons are only trying to live and survive...Just like us, Malachi."
Malachi pouted and his eyes fell down to his fingers that were fidgeting, "I guess if you put it that way...They don't sound so bad..."
Ilaria chuckled, "It's okay to judge something or someone at first glance, just know that there is always something more to the story. After all, we are human." She ruffled the boy's hair and the two of them laughed.
"Malachi! Ilaria! Come on, it's time for supper!"
"Coming, nonna!" Ilaria shouted, Malachi suddenly sprinted towards the small house and Ilaria instantly knew that he wanted a race, so she ran behind Malachi.
"Bet you can't beat me!"
Ilaria didn't realise that she had fallen asleep at the balcony, stuck in one of her fondest memories and when a few hours passed, dawn was approaching and that is usually the time when the professors wake up, including Lady Lesso.
As much as Lady Lesso doesn't like waking up so early in the morning she still has to rise up because it is not the weekends yet and she still has future villains to teach. She then found herself standing outside her balcony and she was just in time to catch the sunrise.
The coldness of the air was then replaced by the warmth of the morning light, Lesso loved that feeling. She absorbed the warm and tender moment while she could before having to handle the little devils roaming around the school.
