(A/N: Hello! I know it's been half a year since I've last updated. Finals were approaching and I had to study for them. Now, that I have a little more time in hand, I can write again. Sorry for leaving this story unfinished, so here's the last piece before another story. ✌︎ )

"Let me offer you a ride home."

"Oh please, I can take care of myself. There's a bus stop nearby and I can just wai-" Josephine paused when felt a gentle squeeze on her hand from Gwen, who was already holding hers.

"I know that, but it's getting really late and there might be some creeps roaming around. I wouldn't want anything bad happening to you." Their eyes met and the persistence in Gwen's eyes were so intense that there was no way Josephine could refuse them.

Therefore, she sighed. "Fine, I accept the offer." Gwen smiled at her and opened the door to the passenger's seat of her car for Josephine who chuckled at her gesture. Once the taller woman got into the driver's seat, she started the engine and began driving to Josephine's home.

Rather than turning on the radio to listen to some songs, they chose to listen to silence. It was nice, they had the windows down, letting the cold air in the car and listening to the other cars slicing through the wind. There was just something about late night drives that makes it so comforting, mesmerising and quite romantic too.

"What simple thing do you think is romantic?" Josephine asked while her eyes were fixated on the lights of the city.

"Probably this...car rides are amazing during sunsets when the golden light hits everything, and night time because the lights in the city makes it looks like everything is alive...I don't know, those moments look like..."

"It belongs in a dream? Or like those nostalgic feelings even though you've never experienced it before, or like you've just been hit by dopamine and everything seems to just glisten." Gwen chuckled at the last statement.

"Yeah, that sounds quite accurate."

The both of them fell into a moment of silence till Josephine chose to speak again. "I like that."

"Like what?"

"What you said about car rides...I like that." Gwen couldn't understand this feeling she was getting out of Josephine, it was like she was just speaking things from the top of her head without thinking of it. No care behind her words, just truthful. "Will you take me on another car ride in the future?"

Gwen pushed the brakes on the car and stared at the red traffic light above them. Confused, she didn't give an immediate reply to Josephine's question. She was wondering what she meant by it or if there was any meaning behind it. Was she indirectly saying that she wants to be romantic with her or did she say it because she just likes car rides? Of course, it was obvious that they gave each other hits either intentionally or unintentionally.

Just as before the traffic light turns green, Gwen gave her reply. "Sure, I'd love to take you on more car rides." She let go of the brakes and drove once more. Although she couldn't see it, the woman beside her had cracked a smile on her face.

After that, it didn't take them long to reach Josephine's home. Gwen parked the car in front of the house and turned off the engine. "Well, we're here." The woman didn't move and stayed where she was seated, she looked to be a bit agitated. Words were forming in her head, but it seemed to be stuck in her throat. "Are you okay?" Gwen asked, taking the silence to her concern.

"I...don't want to go yet." Josephine mumbled.

"We can go somewhere else if you'd like. Though it's quite late, I'm sure we can find somethi-" Gwen didn't get to finish her sentence when Josephine cut her off.
