"Olivia, it's been a while!" Josh smiled at his shoes.
"Sure has. We should catch up soon." She giggled flirtatiously.
I felt my heart being thrown away so I slowly exited their conversation and swam through the sea of people towards the zipper. I knew Josh had a past with a lot of girls but this didn't feel like a thing of the past. They were practically devouring each other's every word and looking for any excuse to touch each other. I climbed into the cage alone, waiting for the ride to start.
"Any single riders? We have a vacant spot?" Said the ride attendant.
I didn't want to ride with anybody else. I just wanted to be alone so I could release my feelings in this caged vicinity. I wanted to scream and release all of my pent up feelings because in this environment everyone would assume I'm screaming for the enjoyment of the ride. No one would know I was truly dying in side, kind of like my everyday life.A handsome boy with voluminous black hair and sparkling brown eyes filled the vacant seat. He wore a leather jacket, loose jeans and a tight band tee shirt.
"I'm Jess."
"Maya." I said looking downwards at my black chuck Taylor's.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, why?" I asked
"I look at my feet when I'm trying to avoid something."
"Well I'm fine."
"Okay.." He said unsure.
All of my feelings always got released on the wrong people, I couldn't help but take advantage of this poor stranger. He didn't deserve the burden of my scars but I couldn't escape the tight feeling in my throat begging me to make a sound.
"Tonight's my last night with this boy I really like before he leaves. And well as you can see we aren't together right now."
"He sounds stupid " He mumbled.
He looked at me unlike most guys looked at me. He seemed like he cared to know the person I was, that I came from a broken home or that I love to draw. He didn't only see an opportunity to score some action. Josh might be a player but this was how he looked at me as well.He didn't look at me like I was a "pretty face" or "curvy body" he looked at me like I was art, like he wanted to analyze me and interpret my meaning. He saw beauty in me from the very start which made me feel something.
"He's not" I laughed a little trying to break the hanging silence.
"Every time this cart flips, tell me something about yourself."
"I don't really want to talk"
"What are you scared of?"
"You're a stranger. Can't we just sit here in silence? " I looked him in the eyes when I said this so he knew I was serious. I already regretted mentioning my previous state of mind. I was such a mess, even people I didn't know could sense it.
"I'm sorry. I'm not usually the talking type either. You just seem all mysterious and I can't help but be curious about you."
"Go solve a different mystery, detective."
The kart began to flip and so did my stomach. I felt so clashtorubobhic and trapped, all I wanted to do was escape.
"Feisty." He teased.
"I'm not in the mood for talking. I'm sorry, I don't mean to come off as disrespectful. I just can't pretend right now."
"You don't have to put on a show..I don't."
I saw him when I looked into his eyes, it was a connection like I've never understood. It was like we were two people given the same life and I felt like we were intertwined, all of his disadvantages in life flew before me in that one glance without having to say any words. As I always did, I ran away from what scared me. This strange connection scared me.
My body stopped swinging and the door flew
Open revealing the night air. I glanced around looking for a familiar face when my eyes detected Josh and the beautiful blonde girl that made me self conscious by just looking at her. i kicked the dirt and walked the opposite direction holding in my emotions, my insides were burning and my throat felt tight.
"Are you okay?"
I looked behind me to see Jess.
"I just can't look over there. " I said pointing to the display of affection occurring by Josh and Olivia. They were all giggly and pushing each other around like when you're in elementary and you possess a crush.
"No, I just need to go."
I looked over one last time looking for a reason to stay, I wanted so desperately to see
Josh push her away, to tell her he had to go to find me. He didn't seem to care I was gone, I was irreverent now in his game.

JOSHS POV
"I really do miss you liv. You look good." I smiled.
Olivia was my first girlfriend, the only girl I've ever been capable of giving the title to and tying myself down with. She moved to New York and that was my when I went from girl to girl.
"You too Josh!" She smiled like a super model. She resembled Cinderella.
Before I could comprehend the excitement and shock of reuniting with her, she smashed her soft lips against mine and I returned the passionate kiss.

MAYAS POV
When I glanced over my eyes began to string and streams of mascara ran along the crevices of my face. I felt my heart make its way inside my stomach and my stomach churned with disbelief. My knees began to shake and I wanted to collapse right there, on the ground where everyone could see me but I'm Maya Hart and I couldn't display weakness to that degree. I couldn't allow him to know he hurt me. His lips were smashed against hers and I felt myself disconnecting from my body. I ran as fast as I could through the crowds of people, disregarding everyone's feet. I trampled my way through the dark, unclear paths until I made my way to the road. Everything seemed to be a blur, my tears flooded my vision and my heart ache flooded my mind. Nothing seemed clear and everything felt like a nightmare, all of my senses were vacuumed from my body. I was a numb mess who could barley make out people's faces and street signs. I carelessly trembled into the street and my head began to pound I closed my eyes for a second to regain my composure but before I knew it I heard the screeching sounds of tires and the blaring of beeps. My body flew onto the windshield, and suddenly I didn't feel so numb anymore. The pounding in my head increased and I could taste the concoction of blood and salvia filling in my mouth. The red, warm liquid was all over my small body and the shreds of shattered glass stuck out of various parts of my body.
"Are you oka.."
Deafening sirens clouded my ears and
Before I knew it my body was taken over by a black, peaceful realm of sleep.
