"Thank you for shopping with us," said Jungkook to the customer who stood before him as he handed over the receipt. He looked over to Seokjin, who was standing there with his arms crossed and a sulky expression on his face while staring at the customer.Until they left the shop, Jin did not take his gaze off the customer. He continued to frown as he made his way to the checkout counter where Jungkook was standing and asked, "why were they smiling at you? Are you acquainted with them?"
Jungkook looked at Jin from behind the counter and said, "They come here often. I didn't think you'd come here."
"Why do they come here often? Maybe I should start coming here often too."
This caused Jungkook to chuckle, "you are free to do whatever you want."
This made Jin's mood change, "not at all the time." As he looked around the store, he asked, "what kind of place is this? Is it where you sell food?"
Jungkook arched his eyebrows but still managed to answer Jin by saying, "it's a grocery store. You'll find a diverse range of products available at this location. However, because it is not as large as a supermarket, the selection of items we provide for sale is more limited even though it might seem like we have a lot."
Jin was amazed as his eyes continued to wander around, "so a supermarket is bigger than this?"
"Yes. Wait, you don't know what a supermarket is?"
"I do. Although I have seen them in movies, I have never been inside one. Jimin had said that he would take me once, but just at that moment, our dinner was brought in, so he did not have the chance to take me. However, I guess it's good; I can see the baby version here. So, what exactly is it that you do around here?" Jin had a genuine interest in knowing Jungkook's job.
Jungkook was perplexed about how Jin had never gone to a supermarket, but he chose to save their conversation for another day. "As a cashier, I am responsible for keeping the store in order while I am on the clock."
"Cashier? Oh, so you collect the money for the items customers purchase?" Jin inquired as he started to have a better understanding of Jungkook's role.
"That's correct."
"Wow, that sounds exciting. Can I help you tonight with being a cashier? I've never worked like that before." Jin was interested in how Jungkook did his job.
"What kind of jobs have you held before?"
"None. I am not allowed to work."
"You are not allowed to work?" Jungkook repeated the statement as he cocked an eyebrow in confusion.
Jin nodded, "my mom said I am never allowed to work."
"Interesting."
"What's interesting about it?"
Jungkook looked over at Jin, leaning on the other side of the counter and peering at him curiously. "Everything is interesting about it. How do you expect to help me tonight when you have never worked?"
"You can teach me." Jin smiled in response.
With a silent contemplation, Jungkook eventually spoke, "I can't teach you from there. Come around to this side."
Jin didn't have to hear it again since he moved swiftly to the other side of the counter, close to where Jungkook was standing. As he moved closer to Jungkook, he scanned his body from head to toe and said, "they make you wear a uniform?"
"Just the clothing," Jungkook replied as he began to roll up his sleeves, which caught Jin's attention.
"Wow, you have a lot of tattoos." Jin couldn't believe his eyes as he reached out with one hand and ran his fingers down Jungkook's tattoos on his arm. "Did they hurt?" he asked. "Where else do you have tattoos? Can you show me?"
