Meeting the Parents 2

I think I browsed about 6 more stores before I found another dress I liked, I didn't love it but it'll do. I kind of felt bad for dragging Val around with me, but actions have consequences so this was all his fault. By the time we left the mall, it was 9:00 p.m.

Thankfully my hairdresser said she could squeeze me in for a 9 a.m. appointment tomorrow and luckily for me, I had no classes on Fridays. We stopped at an ice cream shop, it was probably the best stop in Connecticut and one of the few that made ice cream from scratch.

"Can I get one scoop of vanilla in a cup please," Vanilla was the best flavor and you can never go wrong

"You just had to get the most basic flavor?"

"What vanilla it's a classic," I grabbed my cone and said my thanks, and headed outside to enjoy the cool night breeze.

" I would have never expected you as a vanilla girl," Val stated

" Really what did you expect as, a caramel apple pie kinda gal," I said poking fun at his ice cream flavor.

"No, more of a salted caramel, because you are both salty and sweet," he replied

"Oh my gosh, you are so corny."

"It's all a part of the package, you'll get used to it."

Use to it? How long does he think we will be together?

"Don't hold your breath, because that won't be any time soon. So I have some serious questions to ask you."

He sat up straight and replied, "You have my undivided attention."

"Alright, what does your mom like? Is she a big fan of jewelry, or flowers or does she like a woman who can cook?"

"Are you serious, how many times do I have to tell you, it's just a dinner? You don't have to bring anything, except maybe your appetite and your dignity, her friends can be a pain in the ass at times. Plus she loves it when I bring girls over" he stopped

I raised an eyebrow, "How many girls have you introduced to your parents?"

He placed a hand on his hand his forehead looking down a little embarrassed, "That came out wrong, She likes it when I bring someone over, it stops her from pressuring me to get married."

I slowly nodded, trying my best to understand if he was a player or not. "So how many women have you introduced to your parents?" I placed my ice cream down and crossed my arms over my chest.

He sighs before replying, "Four"

Trying to hide the surprise from my face, "Four as in, you only had four girlfriends ever right?"

He shook his head, "No as in four that happen over the span of five years."

I picked up my ice cream and replied with an oh before continuing to eat, processing the information.

"You don't have any more questions?" he commented

I shook my head, Four? I mean he is a bit older than me and he is a good-looking guy but four in the span of five years. I don't know why that was shocking to me. Probably because I only liked one guy since I was 15.

"You don't want to know anything else about my parents?"

"Well, not about your parents but you. When did you date Faith?" From what I've heard and seen, that was his first love so that relationship had to last a while.

He hesitated before answering, "Well we were friends before we started dating, It was always the Six of us, Nigel, Harry, Ji-Hoon, Chris, and Faith. We basically grew up together, I guess she always had a crush on me but she never had the courage to say anything. During my junior year of high school, I just got out of my first serious relationship, that relationship lasted about 2 years. I was heartbroken, Faith was there for me and before I knew it I was slowly falling for the girl who was one of my best friends. We dated for a few years before I broke it off the same year I decided to drop out."
