Once I was I was dressed and ready. Mica sprayed on some setting spray so my make up would hold. Lilly took her time and about a can and a half of hairspray to sent my hair.

I walk down the hallway and the stairs to where James was sitting. He had been waiting patiently in his dress blues. He was so handsome. I was in awe of him as stood in front of me. He had shaved and cleaned up nicely.

Astarte you look so beautiful. I am going to be the luckiest man tonight.

What makes you say that?

Cause I have the prettiest woman with me. I can't take my eyes off you.

I blushed and tilted my head down as he showered me with compliments. There was something that felt so right about being with him. He went to the kitchen and brought out a crochure and bootiner that had matching blue ribbons along with blue baby roses and baby's breath. He slide the crochure over my wrist and I pinned his bootiner on to his shirt. I felt so giddy and excited for tonight.

Senator Davis and Mrs. Mary sat in the kitchen waiting to see us off. After about 20 photos we where ready to leave. I smiled and said good bye as they drove away. James and I drove to the ball in his mustang. It was black with two thin strips going up the front of the car. He hand leather interior and warm seats. The windows were so darkly tinted that no one would recognize us until we left the car.

He turned on the road and we drove towards to dance. I couldn't help but feel like Cinderella. I was beautiful and going to dance with my Prince Charming in front of a large crowd. I had power and fame and everything was going according to some universal plan. I could feel my mother looking down from heaven. I hope she was smiling. I hoped I made her proud with everything I had done.
