My focus this semester was mainly developing my skills and use of color.
I refer to myself as a symbolic and impressionist artist. Symbolic painters' emphasis line, shape, color and form.
Impressionism is focuses mostly on brush work and color in its most intense form. I enjoy the brush work of impressionism equally to the motional nature of symbolism.
My subject matter is dominantly making nonrealistic or nonpermanent object permanent.
My subject matter changes/ varies depending based on the idea behind it. Mostly I use nature as my base to start off a painting or drawing.
My formal and technical emphasis was brushy brush work and color.
My conceptual emphasis this semester has been making family related symbols permanent. In make them permanent, it allows culture and traditions to remain immortal
My visual influences are nature.
My conceptual influences are family stories and permanency.
My work is linked to symbolic artists such as Emily Lisker and Simberg Michele L'Heurex. My work is also linked to impressionistic artists like Van Gogh and Monet.
