Everyone depicts a teacher as either a caring mother who gives everyone A's or a teacher who fails all their students because they are cruel and mean.
But what is not depicted is the teacher crying turning in final grades and seeing how much the students didn't care.
No work submitted, no valid excuse, no welcomed discussion on how this could have been prevented.
No one cares and the excuse is either don't care so much or it isn't your fault. The get over it mentality.
If your heart is in teaching and you devote your life to it, there are beautiful successes but there are also heartbreaking failure. Tough love is hard for both parties.
