Five days have passed since Eda brought home the two little titans, and things keep getting more stressful for the witch. The first three days Eda left the two siblings at the owl house so that she could run her Human Treasures stall. Her logic was that the titans would be safer if they stayed at the house, but when she came home on the third day she found Hooty being beaten up by the oldest titan. When Eda pulled the two apart she learned that Hooty had accidentally eaten the youngest titan, thinking he was a bug, only to barf him up later along with some garbage he ate the day before.
Eda then realizes that the safest place for the titans would be to stay close to her until they grew up and unlock some of their powers. So here they are, two days after the incident at the marketplace trying to sell some 'human treasures' while keeping an eye out for trouble. Eda was holding the youngest titan as it took a nap while the oldest stood on the table looking at everything around them. "Why do you need to sell these things again?" asked the older titan as she turned to face Eda. "To make money so I can buy stuff like position ingredients, food, and other things," answered Eda as she gave socks to a demon customer saying they were horn warmers.
"But why do you need money, can't you just take that stuff?" the titan asked. Eda couldn't help but let out a laugh after hearing the titan's question. "Ha snort, I like the way you think kid, but I only take what I can't afford. It's often better to use the money to buy stuff if you don't want to attract too much attention," Eda explained as she put the coins, known as snails, she got from the trade into a small coin purse. "Attention from who?" the titan asked, but before Eda could answer.
An unknown voice came out of nowhere and shouted "Eda the owl lady!" The witch and the titan turned to see where the voice came from only to see a guard with a cone-shaped mask standing in front of them. He held up a roll of paper and unfurled it to reveal a wanted poster of Eda holding her staff with her orange looking twice as spiky. "For robbery against the covens and the practice of wild magic, you are..." "SHHH" Eda interrupted the guard before he could finish and pointed to the sleeping fur ball she was holding.
"Can't you be a little quieter?" said Eda as she glared at the guard in front of her. The little titan didn't wake up but instead snuggled deeper into Eda's chest while his paws tightened their grip on the witch's dress. "Look I'm just doing my job, can you please just make it easy for me and turn yourself in?" asked the guard as he begged Eda to surrender. Eda put her free hand on her chin and closed her eyes as she thinks about her answer before she opens her eyes and smiled at the guard.
"Sorry but no," said Eda as she remove her hand from her chin and drew a circle in the air. As soon as she was finished a stone piler rose from the earth with great speed and stuck the guard right between the legs. The guard instantly moved his hands there groaning in pain as he fell to his knees and then on his face. Eda smirked as she picked up her staff and slammed it to the ground making all of the items in the stand start to glow and float up. She then gathered all the items, tied them up in a big bundle, and attached them to her staff.
"Come on kid we got to bouns," Eda said as she looked to the older titan who was still standing on the table staring at the fallen guard. The titan snapped out of her thoughts and jumped off the table and onto the ground next to Eda. The two began to run as fast as they could down the street. "Why don't we just fly away?" asked the titan as she bearly kept up with Eda and her longer strides despite her running on all fours. "We need to make a quick stop somewhere first," Eda answered as she turned a corner.
After ten to fifteen minutes of running the duo stopped running to catch their breath in an ally way. By that time the little titan in Eda's arms had woken up and started to squirm around wanting to get down. Eda applied to the titan's demands and placed the little one next to his big sister. "Come on we're not far from Morton's place," Eda said as she turned around and started to wake out of the ally.
"Who's Morton?" asked the titan as she dragged her little who was still rubbing the sleep out of his eye. "Morton is a shopkeeper, he sells a position that I need," Eda answered as she looked around a corner to check for any dangers. "What do you need it for?" asked the titan as she walked up to Eda's side. Upon hearing the question Eda's entire body tensed up and she found herself unable to answer.
She knew that the titans were still too young to deal with her cures, but for some reason, she didn't want to lie to them. "I'll tell you when you're older," Eda said hoping that it'll be enough to satisfy the titan's curiosity. The titan let out an annoyed sigh and cross her arms clearly not happy with the answer. The younger one just tilted his head to the side, curious about what had his sister so upset.
After that conversation, the party continued making their way to Morton's shop in silence. "There it is," Eda said breaking the silence between the three of them. The titan siblings looked up to see Eda pointing at a stall named 'Mr. Elixier'. In the stall, they saw a man with brown eyes and brown hair that reached his chin. He wears a light brown hoodie and a frog shape pendant around his neck. "Hey, Morton!" Eda shouted as she walked up to the man waving her arm. "Hey Eda," the man Morton replied enthusiastically.
"Look I know what happened last time was bad, but in my defense, the hunter was the one that tried to snap my neck," Eda said as she swung the bundle of human treasure to the ground in front of her. "I know but you set my shop on fire in the process E," Morton stated as he cross his arms and looked at Eda with the best death glare he could make.
"I said I was sorry and I helped put out the fire," Eda said as she razed her hand in a defensive manner, only for Morton to groan in response and look away. "Look I really am sorry for that and to make it up to you I brought you a gift," Eda said before she knelt down and started rummaging through her bag.
Upon hearing that Morton glanced over at Eda in time for her to pull out a shiny metallic object from her bag. "This here is the latest hat in fashion in the human realm," Eda said as she shows the 'hat', which actually was a tin funnel, to Morton. Morton just stared at the 'hat' with a deadpan look before he shifted that gaze to Eda. "Just try it on first before you decide to ban me," Eda said with a pleading smile.
With a sigh, Morton took to 'hat' from Eda and placed it on his head. He then reached under the counter of his shop and pulled out a small handheld mirror in order to look at himself. Upon looking into the mirror Morton's eyes widen in shock. To his surprise, the 'hat' look extremely good on him and he couldn't help but admire himself for a bit logger. "That looks suits you Morton, you even look like a million snails," Eda said giving Morton two thumbs up.
Morton snapped back to reality upon hearing Eda's compliment. He put the mirror down and shily looked away with a faint blush on his cheeks. "I guess I could forgive you this one time," Morton said ganging a victorious smile from Eda. "But you still have to pay in full E," said Morton as he points and smirks at Eda. Eda let out an annoyed groan and priced into her orange locks and pulled out a small coin purse.
She then hands over the purse to Morton who took out more than half of the coins. "I'll go and get your order," Morton said as he turned around and started to walk toward the back only to stop and turned back to face Eda. "Bay the way is it a good idea to let your pets wander off like that?" asked Morton with a worried look on his face. At first, Eda didn't know what Morton was talking about only to have the realization strike her like a bolt of lightning.
She franticly turned around hoping to at least see the titans walking off only to find the two of them had disappeared completely. "Oh no!" Shouted Eda as she grabbed her head in panic. "Morton git my order ready while I'm gone I need to find my kids!" Eda yelled to Morton as she ran down the street looking for the two young titans.
