A few days had passed since the slay ground  Eda decided to make a small trip to the human realm to restock on supplies. While she was away Luz was put in charge of the house since she was the least destructive and scattered brain of the three remaining residents. But that doesn't mean she couldn't completely resist her destructive urges, so to avoid damaging the house, Luz asked Hooty to help with her target practice with her sonic 'weh' outside. Now outside the Hooty stretched his neck and began to pick up rocks and stick with his mouth and through them in the air. Once in the air, Luz would release her 'weh' attack and blast the object into smaller pieces, with King jumping and clapping in support of his sister all the while.

"Don't stop Hooty, keep them coming!" Luz shouted in excitement not wanting the fun to end. "Keep them coming! Keep them coming!" shouted King as he bounced up and down saying the same thing over and over again. Hooty was more than happy to oblige and kept throwing one random rock or stick after the other only for Luz to annihilate them. But as time went on the rocks and sticks got bigger and bigger until Luz realized she was destroying boulders that were twice the size of Eda and fully grown trees. "Hooty stop we're going to destroy the whole forest at this rate!" shouted Luz as she waved her arms in an attempt to get Hooty's attention.

Luckily it worked and Hooty stopped throwing things in the air, but not before he upped rotted one lost tree. For a moment Hooty just stared at the two little titans with the tree still in his mouth by the trunk before dropping it on the ground. King was upset that the game ended, but Luz was more concerned about the mess that she made. Looking around Luz saw that the small clearing in front was slightly bigger and was covered with jagged pieces of wood and fragments of rocks. Luz knew she and the others needed to clean the mess up, but before she could tell Hooty and King what to do a small tornado came flying in and landed in the middle of the clearing.

Once the winds died down the tornado revealed an elderly woman with short wild grey hair, pale skin, and apple green eyes, wearing glasses, a dark purple dress outlined with fur, and holding a staff with an eagle perched at the top in one hand and a brown sack in the other. "Oh Edalyn!" cried the woman in an overly friendly tone. Luz instantly recognized the woman as Gwendolyn Clawthorn, Eda's mother. Luz remembers Gwen coming to visit a few times, but every time she would ignore Luz and King and just spend her time trying to talk to Eda, who would try to ignore her. "Hello Mrs. Gwen," said Hooty, stretching out his neck to greet the elderly witch. "Hello dear Hooty it's good to see you again, but I'm surprised to see a bigger mess than usual, " stated Gwen as she looked around the messy clearing. Taking a breath to calm herself, Luz began to walk forward and approached her grandmother.

"Sorry Mama, Hooty was helping me practice my new ability and it just got out of hand," Luz said as she made her final approach to her grandma. With an understanding smile, Gwen knelt in front of Luz. "As long as no one was hurt it's ok, but more importantly have you seen my daughter?" asked Gwen. "She's in the human realm, hoot," said Hooty stealing Gwen's attention away from Luz before she could answer. "But you are more than welcome to come in and wait for her," said Luz as she stepped aside and gestured towards the door. "Why thank you Buz," Gwen said as she stood back up and started walking towards the door. "It's Luz Mama," said Luz correcting Gwen. "Oh sorry, my bad," said Gwen turning her head in Luz's direction to apologize before turning back towards the door.

Looking around at the mess in the clearing one more time she thought it would be best for King to go inside instead of staying outside and risk getting splinters. "Hay King, do you think you can wait inside until we're done cleaning up?" asked Luz, hoping her brother would listen to her request. At first, the two-year-old crossed his arms and huffed as he turned his head to the side and away from Luz. "Please King, I'll give you my portion of dessert tonight," said Luz in a sweet enticing voice. After hearing the offer King turned his head back towards Luz with eyes full of excitement and started to clap his hands together. "Offerings! Offerings!" squeaked King as he turned to head inside pumping his fists in the air.
