It had been a whole week since the discovery of Luz's new plant glyph and her brother King was kind of wishing that he had powers of his own. He knows that he doesn't have any yet due to his age, but he still can't help but feel jealous of his sister for having all of those new abilities. And the fact that Luz had been spending most of her time practicing with her powers didn't help King feel any better. It made him feel like that Luz was ignoring him because he wasn't good enough to hang out with anymore. Feeling depressed King spent most of that week reading his demon books trying to distract himself.

While reading King learned all kinds of facts about the many demons that lived on the isles, but it bothered him that he couldn't find anything about him or his sister. Wanting to know more, King asked Luz, hoping to get some answers.

(As you all can guess King still doesn't know he's a Titan because Eda and Luz want him to have a normal childhood without the pressure of being a demigod and being the last of their kind.)

Knowing that Luz was outside practicing, King made his way from his room to the back door book in hand, where he saw Luz using her plant glyph to tie up or smash some of the targets she made out of the trash their mom brought home. At first, King was going to call out to his sister but stopped when he saw her pull out a piece of paper with a new glyph that King hadn't seen yet.

When Luz activated the glyph a stream of fire shot out of the paper and burned the remaining targets to ash. When King saw this he was stunned not only was Luz getting better at her new powers but she also got a new one and didn't tell him.

Sensing someone watching her Luz turned and saw King standing in front of the back door holding one of his demon books. "Hey King, is everything ok?" asked Luz as she turned to her brother only to see him starting to shake. "...fair," King whispered as he looked down avoiding to look Luz in the eyes. "What?" Luz asked as she walked closer to King hoping to hear him better, but when she got close King looked up at her, and that's when Luz saw tears starting to form in his eyes. "IT'S NOT FAIR!" yelled King as he threw his book on the ground. He then turned around and ran back into the house slamming the door on the way.

Surprised by King's sudden outburst, Luz stood there, unable to understand why her brother was so upset. Meanwhile, King ran up to the top of the old tower still crying and asking himself why he couldn't be more like Luz. At first, King just walked back and forth in a line until he placed his back against the wall and let himself slide down to the floor. Once on the floor King lowered his head and hugged his knees before he started to cry.

King didn't know how long he sat there crying, but before he knew it he felt someone sit down next to him. When he lifted his head to see who it was he saw Luz sitting next to him and looking up at the sky. At first, King just looked away and waited for Luz's speech but after waiting for five minutes Luz still hadn't said a word. "What are you waiting for? Don't you have a speech to tell me?" asked King turning his head to face Luz. "How can I if you don't tell me what's wrong," stated Luz turning her gaze from the sky to King.

"Nothing's wrong!" yelled King as he got up and started to walk away. "Then why are you so upset?" Luz said as she stood up to follow King. "Because you have powers and I don't!" shouted King as he turned around to face Luz. "You can do all these cool things while I can't do anything. I'm... I'm just useless," King said as more tiers started to fill his eyes. Without hesitation, Luz rushed forward and pulled King into a big hug.

"You're not useless King and don't ever say that," Luz said trying to reassure King. "But it's true. I can't do anything," King said as he stood there letting Luz hug him. For a while, Luz stayed quiet trying to think of something to say when a memory came to mind. "King remember the time when the two of us got caught by the Emperor's Coven about a year ago?" Luz asked as she recalled the incident. King didn't say anything, he just stood there and let Luz tell the story.

"We got separated from Mom while trying to get away from them only to end up getting cornered in an ambush," Luz said narrating the story. "When they caught us they put a muzzle on me to stop me from using my Sonic Shout. While I was franticly trying and failing to get it off you noticed that your cage was next to a giant Ratworm. You then used the pet food that the coven scouts gave us to lure it to the cage and got it to chew through the bars which allowed us to escape," Luz said finishing the story. She pulled herself away from the hug and placed her hands on King's shoulders.

"You saved us that day King. Not me, you," Luz stated looking King straight in the eyes. For a while, King just stayed quiet while turning his gaze from look to the floor. "But it's still not fair you can still have powers and I don't," said King still visibly upset with himself. "And to top it off you got a new glyph and you didn't tell me," stated King who was growing more upset with Luz. "Because I didn't want to hurt you as I did with Gus," Luz said earning a confused look from King.

"Do you remember Willow and Gus, the friends I told you about, I was actually with them when I saw the fire glyph," Luz said starting to tell her story. "I was so excited to see what it could do that I drew it in the dirt as fast as I could. Willow was the one to ask me what it was and when I told her and Gus that it was how I did magic, Gus got excited and activated the glyph only to get his hand burnt," Luz said surprising King. "Luckily we got him to a healer fast and the burns weren't serious, but that didn't change the fact that I was the reason he got hurt," Luz stated as a guilty look and feeling swept over her like a wave.

"But it was an accident," said King trying to comfort Luz. "That may be true but it was a strong reminder that power like that can be scary, especially if you don't know what it's capable of," Luz said as the feeling of guilt only grew. "That's why I'm working so hard to get better, so I don't hurt people by accident and to help you when you get your powers," after hearing that King was even more surprised. "I don't have someone to teach me how to use my power safely or to tell me what my limits are, and that terrifies me, but I also don't want you to go through it so I need to learn everything I can so that way I can help you when you get yours," explained Luz.

After hearing all that King finally understood why Luz was pushing herself to train so hard. It was because she felt like she needed to improve, not because she thought she was better. Then King realized that he couldn't help but feel guilty, for yelling at Luz the way he did earlier. For a while, King stood there until he moved closer to Luz and gave her a tight hug. Luz didn't hesitate to return the hug and for a moment the two siblings stayed that way comforting each other.

After Luz and King were done hugging they pulled away from each other and wiped away their tears. "Luz, did you forget that you have me and Mom? We can't teach you but that doesn't mean we can't help you," said King. "Don't forget about me!" yelled Hooty who seemed to have just popped out of nowhere and scared the two siblings. "Hooty you need to stop sneaking up on us, but he's right. You're not alone Luz, and if I remember correctly you said you told Mom something similar once," said King referring to the conversation she and Eda had in the human realm. When Luz heard that she couldn't help but laugh at herself because the advice she gave to someone else was being given back to her.

"You're right. I guess I've been so worried about what could happen that I forgot what I still had," Luz said as she rubbed the back of her neck out of embarrassment. "Just don't let it happen again, ok?" asked King as he reached out and grabbed Luz's free hand. After hearing that Luz moved her hand from her neck, reached for King's head, and started to pet him. "I'll try," Luz said earning a happy look from her brother when out of nowhere Hooty coiled around them and gave them his form of a hug. "I just love how you two care for each other," Hooty said as rivers of tears fell down his face. "Hooty... can't... breathe," Luz choked out as she tried to wiggle herself and her brother free from the life-crushing hug.
