Teen Life

Chapter 1

Lainey Carter

"I'm going to miss you too," I whispered as a few tears ran down my face. Thank God I decided to wear waterproof mascara this morning, I want his last impression of me before I enter the house to be good. He pulled me into a hug and ran his hand down my bare back, I had on a little black top that was only held on by some string around my neck and waist. Bradley loves my body so I figured I'll let him have a good look, hopefully it will be enough to make him want to wait for me.

I promised him that we could take our relationship to the next level once I get out of the house, hopefully I'll be there the full three months of our summer holiday and get to come home with the prize money.

"I don't know how I'm going to survive a whole three months without you, it's going to be pure torture," he said, looking into my eyes.

"I know but just imagine what we can do if I win the money," I replied trying to cheer him up. We've been going steady for a year now and he has really been the perfect boyfriend. After the summer holiday we will both be seniors at Creston High and then it's off to college. We are talking about going to the same college so that we can be together but we haven't decided where we want to go yet.

Bradley started placing little kisses down my neck causing my body to break out in goosebumps. His lips moved back up my neck and eventually found my mouth where he pressed his lips tightly against mine. The kiss started off sweet but soon grew more intense. He licked my bottom lip asking me for entrance and I parted my lips letting his tongue roam my mouth. We kissed like that for what must have been a few minutes when I heard my mother calling me from downstairs.

I didn't want to break the kiss but I knew I had no choice. The competition starts tomorrow and I had to get going now if I wanted to be there in time. My plane was leaving in about two hours so I really didn't have much more time.

Bradley helped me carry my bags down the stairs and into the living room where my mother was waiting patiently. My mom likes Bradley which is quite strange considering she hates most men. My dad cheated on her with some low class slut as she calls her and since then she has a huge dislike for the opposite sex.

We loaded my bags into Bradley's car and then I said my goodbye's to my mother. She thought that this whole experience would be good for me. It's not like we needed the money but she said it would make me a stronger person and teach me a lot about the world and how it works. I'm not quite sure what she meant by that considering I'm going to be locked up in a house for three months but nonetheless I was glad that she thought it was a good idea.

Bradley drove me to the airport where he waited with me until I had to board my plane. It was sad saying goodbye to him but I couldn't help but feel excited about what laid ahead.

"I can't believe you're going to miss the national championships," Wilton said, shaking his head in disbelief. I had tried out for the skateboarding national championships a few months ago and got in with flying colors. I ranked second in my state and everybody that knew me thought I had a really good chance of winning. I didn't know about the Teen Life competition back then but when I saw it advertised on the TV I couldn't resist entering. It's not that I wanted to miss the skateboarding championships but there was a huge difference in the prize money, and being live on TV for three months could really give me some exposure. My dream is to become a professional skateboarder and I think this whole Teen life thing is really going to give my career a boost in the right direction.

"Yeah well, you better start believing it because I'm leaving tomorrow," I replied, punching my best friend on his shoulder. We were hanging out at the skate park like we always do but today seemed a bit different, there was coldness in the air rubbing off an uneasy feeling on me. I'm going to miss Wilton and Seth but it is all going to be worth it in the long run. I am going to win the million dollars in prize money and then I can open my own skate shop next year. I had graduated from high school a few months ago and unlike my friends I haven't applied to a university or college yet.
