Chapter 19
Stolen innocence
Lainey Carter
The whole thing with Tailynn was really starting to get to me, I didn’t want to be mean but I just couldn’t share a room with her anymore. I needed to get some sleep and that was impossible to do in the same room as her. I apologized to her, explaining my reasons and then started moving my things into an empty room. It was a huge room with three single beds, one in each corner and the door taking up the fourth. There was a huge window facing out over the forest that surrounded the house and a big dressing mirror hung on the opposite wall next to a standalone cupboard. It looked like a room straight out of an old movie.
As I moved my things I noticed that Tailynn watched my every move, creeping me out a bit. When I was done I grabbed my pajamas and made my way over to the nearest bathroom. Luckily the one where Tailynn claimed to have seen that thing in the mirror was far down the hall. I was about to enter the bathroom when Tailynn stepped in front of me.
“Don’t sleep in that room,” she said, looking straight into my eyes. The happy go lucky girl that she was when she entered the house gone, replaced by something cold and scared.
“It can only be better then bunking with you, I replied before I could stop myself. I felt guilty immediately but the words were said and I couldn’t take them back.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” she stated, completely unaffected by my previous statement as she turned her back on me and made her way back to our room.
Her words scared the crap out of me and by the time I was done showering and busy making my way back to my new room I was ready to grab a blanket and run downstairs, figuring the couch in the living room had to be safe.
I stepped into the room slowly as fear rose up in me. I didn’t see anything but I have to admit that the room had a creepy feeling to it. I threw the clothes that I had worn during the day onto the floor and dashed for the nearest bed to grab a pillow and a blanket. I pulled them off of the bed and ran back over to the door that I had left open. I was only a few feet away from the door when I felt a strange presence in the room and the door shut in my face.
“Shit,” I gasped as the blanket and pillow slipped from my hands and fell to the floor. I reached for the door knob and turned it but it was locked. I yanked on it and hit the door with my fist while screaming for help but nobody came. When my hand started throbbing I slid to the ground and moved so that my back was against the door. Why weren’t anybody coming to help me? I wondered as I looked around the room. Everything seemed the same as earlier. No I was wrong, it didn’t. The room was spotlessly clean when I was in here earlier but now it was covered in dust and spider webs.
I got to my feet, pulling myself up against the door as the tears stinging at my eyes finally started rolling down my face. This can’t be real, this can’t be happening I told myself over and over again, trying to convince myself. A cold breeze tore through the room making me turn my attention to the big window that was now open.
“No…no… this isn’t real,” I whispered to myself, backing away from the window until I felt myself pressed up against something cold and hard. I spun around to find myself looking into the mirror on the wall.
There wasn’t any white face with black eyes staring back at me like Tailynn explained but what I saw was much worse. My own reflection stared back at me with horrified eyes as the room around me started decaying. The light wallpaper was peeling off, stains took over the clean carpet and the blankets on the bed changed color. When the transformation in the mirror was complete I turned around and looked at the room that had formed in the mirror. It was old, dirty and gave off the smell of death. The carpet was stained with something that reminded me of blood and when I followed the trail it led to the three single beds that were now stained with blood as well.
I heard a moan escape my lips as I stared in disbelief as the blood stains on the bed turned to liquid in front of my eyes and the blood started dripping to the floor. As I stared at the scene playing out in front of me I felt a presence behind me that could only be described as evil. I spun around and found myself face to face with the thing that Tailynn had described. It had the shape of a human but the face was severely deformed. Its skin was pale white and its two big black eyes peered at me from out of the mirror.
A scream escaped my throat as I started backing away but it seemed the further I moved from the mirror the closer the thing came to the edge. I felt the edge of a bed against my leg and fell backwards onto it and into the blood that was still running from it. I watched as the thing climbed out of the mirror, its eyes still focused on me. As it moved closer its body and face started taking on a different shape until Diago was standing in front of me.
“Diago,” I whispered, not sure if I should feel relieved or not.
“Shhh Emma, you don’t want to wake up your sisters do you?” A voice I didn’t recognize asked. I screamed again, hoping that somebody would come to my rescue but the thing just kept on advancing until it was standing right in from of me.
“You really shouldn’t have done that, now they are going to have to pay too,” the thing said, looking over to the other two beds. I was so stunned by the whole situation that I couldn’t help but follow his gaze and as I looked at the beds the broken bodies of two small girls appeared on them.
This is when I realized that no matter how unreal all of this seamed it was actually happening to me and it was very real. I jumped to my feet but the thing that looked like Diago grabbed a hold of me and pushed me down onto the bed. It was extremely strong and unnaturally cold.
It stood there over me, watching me for a few seconds and then started undoing the buttons of its pants.
“No, please don’t do this. Please, please…” I sobbed through the tears as I realized what he was going to do.
“It’s your fault mommy is dead, now you have to look after daddy’s needs,” the thing said as it bent down over me and pulled my shirt off with one tug, revealing my breasts.
“Please don’t do this!” I begged, pushing him away from me but without any results. He slapped me across my face with such force that I could taste blood in my mouth. I could tell that he wasn’t going to stop as he continued by pulling off my pajama shorts and panties at the same time.
“No… no… please don’t,” I sobbed as he pushed me back onto the bed and positioned himself between my legs.
“If you don’t shut the fuck up I’m going to kill you,” the thing said and then pressed himself into me. An awful pain shot through my body causing my back to arch up and a scream to escape my mouth.
“Oh yea, scream for daddy,” the thing whispered as it thrust into me again and again as I squirmed beneath him. I could tell when it climaxed by the look on its face and the sound that escaped its mouth. When he was done something in its eyes changed and I watched as Diago’s body went limp and fell onto me.
The room around me started spinning as it changed back to normal and then the door burst open.
