Chapter 20
Trapped

We could hear the terrifying screams and sobs coming from inside the room but no matter how hard we tried we couldn’t get the door open. As the sobs stopped I tried shoving the door open again and to everybody’s surprise it opened as if it was never even locked. I threw it open and stepped into the room.
What I saw stopped me in my tracks for a second before I charged at Diago. He was lying on top of Lainey’s naked body. I grabbed a hold of his limp body as I noticed silent tears running down Lainey’s face. The look in her eyes was empty and scared and that is all it took for me to lose it.
I threw him across the room and jumped on top of him as he hit the wall and fell to the ground. I put all the power I had behind my fist and brought it crashing down on his face. I was vaguely aware of the sound of panicked voices but I didn’t pay any attention to them until one particular voice caught my attention.
“Stop! Stop it!” I heard Lainey shouting from where she was now sitting on the bed. The fact that she of all people would want me to stop was beyond me but instead of punching Diago’s blood stained face again I just sat there staring at him until I felt hands on my arms and was pulled off of him.
Lainey who was now dressed again got up from the bed and walked over to where Diago was lying on the floor. She sat down beside him and started examining the wounds I have inflicted upon him.
“He needs a doctor,” she stated, turning her attention from him to Shiloh and Gemma who were standing near the bed. They both looked terrified but didn’t argue with her, instead Shiloh shook her head in agreement and made her way out of the room with Bladen who was standing at the door and Gemma following behind her.
“We should leave him to die,” Noriko said from the other side of the room, taking all of us by surprise with her words. She is usually so shy that nobody expected her to say something like that.
“No!” Lainey objected, glaring at her.
“Why not? After what he did to you he deserves to die,” I half asked, half stated confused by why she would want to help him.
“It wasn’t him, it was that thing in the mirror,” Lainey replied, looking over to where Tailynn was standing.
“I should have listened to you,” she said, her voice braking half way through as she started to sob again.
“Come on, let’s get you out of here,” Noriko stated as she walked over to Lainey and took her arm in her hand to help her up.
“No, I’m not going anywhere until I know he is ok. It wasn’t his fault,” Layney sobbed, pulling her arm out of Noriko’s grip.
“I can’t watch this anymore,” I stated, feeling sick to my stomach about the whole situation.
“Will you guys please stay here with her until a doctor gets here?” I asked Storm and the rest of them who was still in the room.
“Yea,” Storm answered while Brady, Noriko and Sage just shook their heads in agreement. I had no idea where Tailynn was, she must have left sometime during all of the commotion. I made my way out of the room and set off to find her.
