Percy Jackson used to love intimating people. Mortals, demigods, it didn't matter. He knew he looked scary with his tall and muscular figure and the scars all over his body. His friends have said it themselves that at one point or another, they were scared of Percy. But now he didn't care. He wanted his friends and family to feel save around him.

So it wasn't a shock when this Steve Rogers person's heartbeat began to speed up in fear. Or was in anticipation? Excitement? "So when you said you could feel my blood..."

"I can feel and control practically any liquid." Percy tilted his head down and played with his fingers. He didn't need to see them to know they look like they have been through a meat grinder. "It's not something I'm very proud of." Unwanted thoughts of Tartarus tried to sneak in through the crack of his mind. Fortunately, he had a strange talent for being able to hold in his panic until he was alone, or with someone safe. These men in front of him are new, he can have a panic attack later.

"It seems to me that you could be very powerful." Steve said. Percy concluded that it was anticipation that made his heartbeat rise. This man seems like the type of person who doesn't scare easily.

"He is. That's why I want him on our side." Percy knew he was powerful, he knew he was one of the most powerful demigods to exist. He just didn't like to be reminded of that fact.

"I am on your side. But that doesn't mean I will fight with you, it just means I won't fight against you. I'm done fighting." Percy went back to playing with his fingers while Fury made a noise that sounded like he wasn't convinced.

"What if I told you it could benefit your entire family?" He paused. "The mortal family." Fury finished. Percy looked up and tried to look where he believed Fury's face was. He scuffed.

"Benefits? The only benefits they need is me here with them." Then Fury brought up Estelle.

"You have a younger sister, am I right?" Percy stood slowly, trying his best to seem calm.

"What?" He forced out. Percy can feel the wind on his face from Fury waving his hands in front of his face.

"Relax, this isn't a threat. All I'm saying is that I can make sure she would never want for anything again. Private tutors? Done. Elite colleges? Done. Money? Done. Protection? Well I'm sure she doesn't need that with you by her side but if need be, done." Percy sighed and sat back down. He rubbed at his temple where a headache was starting to form.

"You're bribing me." He stated.

"Is it working?" Fury asked with a bit of humor in his voice. Before Percy can answer, his mother stepped in.

"Estelle doesn't need anymore than what she has here. A loving family, a warm bed and a full belly." Sally's words put a small smile on Percy's face. He loved the idea of his baby sister living the life he never got. Fury then turned to Sally.

"What about you, Mrs. Blofis?" Percy felt Sally tense behind him. "You would never have to pay rent ever again. Your children could do whatever they want for a career. The world could be their oyster." Fury said. "Percy," his attention shifted. "We could pay you. Make it like a part-time job. How many places are so eager to employ a blind teenager with an attitude problem?" Percy would hear the smugness in his voice.

"Mr. Fury!" Sally reprimanded.

"I'm sorry about that ma'am." Steve apologized. "He has no manners." He turned to Fury and lowered his voice enough that Percy could barely make out what he was saying. "Director Fury I suggest you be more kind to the person you are trying to recruit."

"People like Mr. Jackson don't care about something like kindness." Fury said in a normal toned voice. "He cares about the truth. Isn't that right?" It was silent for a minute. Percy knew he was right. Percy didn't care about  bullshit kindness. Half of his life he was kept in the dark about a lot of important things. It was uncomfortable that Nick Fury knew something like this. His 'people like Mr. Jackson' implicated that he knew more people like him. People who are done screwing around and prefer to get straight to the point. Percy took a deep breathe.
