Percy's favorite part of dreaming was that he could see in them. If he was lucky, he would dream of his family, of Annabeth, of the strawberry fields that surrounded camp. But Percy was never lucky. Instead he was standing on top of a building in what seemed to be New York City. He went to the ledge and looked down into a sea of pure chaos. Animals of all kinds were fighting each other, ripping apart anything that got close to them. He could hear thunder and when he looked up, storm clouds covered the sky, lightening flashing every second. He could hear humans crying and screaming from somewhere but couldn't see another person. He looked down again and all of the animals were gone, replaced by a forest of pink trees with blooming golden apples hanging from the branches.
And Percy was confused. But it wasn't a normal feeling of confusion like when was trying to read English. The feeling seemed forced, like how the anger felt when Ares was around. Percy blinked and the forest was gone. There, in the middle of the streets of New York, stood a woman. Her skin was pale and her long hair was pitch black. Her purple dress moved around despite there being no wind. She stared straight into Percy's eyes from her perch down below. How he knew that considering he couldn't see her eyes, he didn't know. She tilted her head to the side and a beautiful smile slipped across her face. The kind of smile that sent a shiver down Percy's spine. He knew the woman was beautiful in the same way he was confused. It was an unnatural feeling that he knew was correct.
Percy watched her mouth move to make a sound, a sentence, but nothing came out. Instead he felt and heard a whisper from behind him. "I'm coming. I can't wait to have fun." It was feminine and high pitched. Percy whipped his body around but the woman was still below the building. She didn't take her eyes off him as she slowly faded into nothingness leaving behind the laughter of a little girl. The laughter got louder and louder until Percy had to cover his ears and soon it became so unbearably loud, he screamed.
