*This chapter contains a panic attack and suicidal thoughts but are not graphic. Stay safe y'all*

Percy woke up sweating. He was breathing hard and his body felt too hot. He tried to move but something was trapping him to the bed. His breathing got harder and he shoved what was on him away with all his lacking strength. "Percy, what the-" It was Annabeth. She sounded mad but stopped and shuffled closer to the bed. She dragged her feet purposely, her metal foot making a faint scrapping noise. It was a way for Percy to know she was approaching if for some reason he couldn't feel or hear her presence. Like right now, when Percy's blood was the only thing he could feel. He heard the shuffling and reached out towards the sound.

"Annie," He whined. Annabeth sat next to him and held his outstretched hand. She traced shaped into his palm and up his arm as his breathing slowed. She blew gently on the pulse point of his wrist to cool him off just a bit.

"I'm here Percy. We're in your room in New York. I'm not going anywhere. You are alive and you are safe with me." She said calmly. But her words had the opposite effect. Percy pulled away from her warm embrace and fell out the bed in the process. He curled into a ball and hugged his knees.

"No, no you're not." He whispered. Percy may be safe with Annabeth but Annabeth was not safe with Percy. All of a sudden Percy could sense her blood. He could feel it moving through her veins. He could hear the slight hum from Athena's parentage. She was so close. So fragile. So mortal.

It would be so easy. Percy thought. I could kill her without lifting a finger. His breathing stopped and he froze. It was like someone poured ice water down his spine and under his skin. Bile rose up in his throat. He didn't want to hurt Annabeth, he didn't want to kill the Avengers, he didn't want to be used as a weapon because he knew he was. He was dangerous. He was deadly. Maybe... he began to think. Maybe it would be better if I wasn't here.

Percy got knocked against the wall by a harsh and powerful slap to his face. The pain helped him focus. He was able to faintly distinguish Annabeth's rough breathing in front of him. Before he got anymore information, she grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him close to her face. Her breath was hot on his cheeks and she smelt of what she always did, old books and charcoal, but the hint of sweat came through as well. "Don't you ever say that again." She snarled. Her voice was low and she sounded angry and frightened at the same time. "What do you-" she breathed. "What are you-" another breathe. "Percy." She said softly, no longer any hint of anger, but her voice was firm. "Why would you say that? Talk to me, seaweed brain. What's going on in that water logged brain of yours?" She cupped his cheeks and wiped away a few stray tears. And that's when Percy realized he wrong before, it wasn't sweat he smelt, it was tears. Annabeth's tears. She was crying. Percy made Annabeth cry. But they were crying together and that's all Percy could ask for at the moment.

"She wants to use me as a weapon." He whispered. "She wants me to kill the Avengers." Annabeth slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him into her chest. The tip of his own camp necklace tickled his nose. A few weeks ago Annabeth and Percy switched their camp necklaces as a small gesture for always being there for each other. When he was lonely he would touch the beads, reminding both of them what they have survived. But he didn't know how to survive himself. "You know my fatal flaw, Annie, it would be so easy to manipulate me and make me do something... something terrible." He rambled. "All Chaos would need is threaten one of you. And I'd do anything." He squeezed her tightly and she didn't flinch. She never flinched because of Percy.

"We will get through this." She said and it almost sounded like a command. "But if you can't make it," she stuttered, "If Perseus Jackson gives up than what the Hades kind of chance do the rest of us have?" She laughed darkly and more tears began to flow, dropping into Percy's already sweaty hair. "What kind of chance do the young ones at camp who look up to you have? The ones who fought by your side, what chance do they have?" She pressed her forehead against his. "If you give up, what chance do I have?" Her voice cracked. Percy tilted his head up and pressed his lips to hers for a brief moment. She giggled.

"Annabeth Chase, you have every chance in the world." Percy said quietly. "You are the smartest person in the world and the prettiest." He added with a smile. Annabeth bursted out laughing.

"You don't know, I could have gotten ugly." She mocked. Percy stood, his feet no longer as shaky as they were before. He held out a hand for Annabeth to take, and when she did, he pulled her into his chest and flopped onto the bed.

"You could never." He whispered. "Hey, did I ever tell you the first time I met Aphrodite she looked like you?" He could feel Annabeth go warm in his arms.

"I- no you didn't." She muttered. Percy kissed her head and her cheek making her giggle again. "But Percy," she sobered up. "We need to talk about before. Ignoring it will get make it worse."

"I'm good at ignoring important things." Percy replied. Annabeth slightly smacked his chest.

"If not me, then someone."

"Are you suggesting that I see a therapist?" Percy cringed. When his mom first started seeing Gabe, she made him see a child psychologist to "help with the adjustment". Percy didn't remember much from that long ago but he did remember he only saw her for a few sessions before she disappeared. When Percy asked Sally where she went, she told him she wasn't a good fit for someone like Percy.

"Camp Jupiter has legacy therapists. They specialize in demigod mental health." Annabeth said. Percy nuzzled into her hair.

"Are you seeing one?" He asked without judgement.

"I want to start. But I think I wouldn't feel as weird about it if you also saw one." Annabeth never liked being alone. She wasn't obsessed with validation and she wasn't co-depend, but she didn't like being the only one doing something new and strange. If she wanted to try a new weapon, she took Clarisse or Percy with her. If she wanted to travel to a new place, even if it's not that far, she would bring Percy or Piper. Percy knew that Annabeth would feel uncomfortable talking to a stranger about her feelings all alone in a room together.

"Okay." He said. "Do we have to go all the way to California?" Annabeth laughed softly.

"No. They do it over Iris-Message. Apparently Iris sponsors it so you don't have to give any drachma." Percy did love free stuff.

"Okay." He said. "We'll go to therapy and talk to strangers about the many times we saved the world and nearly died each time." Annabeth smacked him hitter.

"Percy!" She yelled. He laughed.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." He squeezed Annabeth tightly as they laid in his bed on his bare mattress. "I love you, Wise Girl." He whispered into her hair.

"I love you, Seaweed Brain." And for Percy, those words meant everything will be alright.
