Mount Olympus was unusually loud today. Percy could hear minor gods and nymphs laughing and singing, music was playing loudly from somewhere. The sweet strong smell of nectar filled the air and all together, it gave Percy a headache and made him a little disoriented. He hasn't been up here often since the end of the war with Gaea. Once when the gods brought them all up to say an insincere 'thank you' right after the war and once to visit Apollo.
Percy went to Apollo in tears a few weeks after he came back from Tartarus. The overwhelming sounds, the feeling of moving blood, the nightmares, the blindness in general were too much for Percy to handle. He needed it fix. He couldn't take it anymore and the only thing he could think of was going to the god of medicine. He couldn't have gone to camp and see his cabin. Campers new and old all looked up to Percy and he didn't want them to see him covering his ears and begging for help. "I want to help you, Percy, I do." Apollo said genuinely. He was considerate enough to take the conversation away from the other gods. "But because it was Tartarus that made you blind, my power can't do anything." Apollo must have noticed his flinch at the mention of the pit because he spoke quieter. "If it was a regular, normal injury I would be able to easily. But what happens in that place, even if you came back, is out of my control. I'm sorry." Percy didn't take this well. He screamed and yelled at Apollo who just stood there and took it. "I could give you something for nightmares and ease the pain in your ears or eyes if you'd like." Percy just nodded and left without another word. Although Apollo couldn't fix his eyesight, Percy gained some respect for the sun god.
"Woah!" Peter said from behind him, bringing him back to the present. Percy remembered being amazed his first time here so he let Peter take it all in.
"Stick close and follow me." Percy said as he continued to the throne room. All the way there, he could hear Peter gasping and awing at the sights. He even asked a few questions that Percy didn't mind answering. He felt a little bad that he was so rude to him before. He was just a kid anyway.
"What are the people with green skin and flowers growing out of their bodies?"
"Nymphs. Depending on what kind, they look different. Sea nymphs, which I doubt you'd see here, look like there are made of water. Which I guess they are."
"What are the small little buildings for?"
"The minor gods. The main twelve gods have their own throne room."
"What is that smell? It smells like honey."
"You have a good sense of smell." Percy noticed.
"Since I was bit by the spider, some of my senses have been heightened. My hearing is pretty good too."
"Its nectar. The drink of the gods. There's also ambrosia which has a fainter smell, food of the gods. Demigods can have both nectar and ambrosia but only in small amounts. We use it in battle to help heal us and give us energy."
"Can I have some? I can't tell you how many times I've have to lay on the ground for a while because I was so hurt."
"Sure, I'll get you some. But just don't take too much. Demigods can overdose on it and die. If mortals eat it they will literally spontaneously combust." Percy added lightly.
"Oh." Percy smiled at that. He had the same reaction.
The questions stopped when Percy stopped in front of the door to the throne room. "Here we are." He whispered. He took a deep breath and pushed open the large and heavy doors. The creaking was loud and the voices inside suddenly stopped with his arrival.
"Oh my god." Peter said under his breath to himself. Percy turned his head back and lifted a finger to his lips. He walked forward and stopped in front of the loud, electrical sounding noise. He nodded his head.
"Uncle." As much as he hated it, he learned his lesson about addressing Zeus first. Drama queen. Percy thought. He then turned towards the strong scent of the ocean. "Dad." He moved his head around the room. "Everyone."
"Perseus." Zeus boomed. "What to what to we own the absolute pleasure of your presence?"
"Who is that?" Athena interrupted. Percy let out a small laugh. He grabbed Peter's hand and practical dragged him in front of the humming sound that is much stronger than Peter or Annabeth's.
"What?" Percy clenched his teeth. "You don't recognize your own son?" He heard Peter's breath hitch, his heart racing the fastest Percy has ever heard from him.
"You are Richard's son. Are you not?" Peter did not reply.
"Can you speak, child?" Aphrodite asked from her throne. Peter stuttered.
"Uh, um, y-yes. Yes ma'am. Richard was my father." His voice small.
"Was?" Athena asked.
"He died. Years ago with my mom. Er, I guess my step mother? You are Athena right?"
"I am." She said gently. Her soft voice made Percy angry.
"He is fifteen. He should have been claimed years ago." He said bitterly. "You made a deal. Out of all of everyone I would have thought at least you would honor your promise."
"How can you tell he is my child?" Athena asked. Percy didn't know if she was genuinely curious about how he knew or if she was just being difficult.
"Are you denying he's your son?" Athena hummed slowly. It was much more endearing when Annabeth did it. She snapped her fingers and Peter gasped loudly. She claimed him. She claimed him only when she was confronted with her dishonesty. Percy's blood boiled, not literally but he was close to boiling the Ichor in her veins. "Welcome to the family, Pete." He snarled towards Athena. Peter stalked in front of Percy.
"I have so many questions!" He beamed. "Is the reason I'm so smart because you're my mother? Or is my love of learning from you and that resulted of me learning so much? What really happened during the Trojan War?" Percy heard Hermes, Apollo and Artemis laugh under their breaths. "What was Odysseus like? Oh my god, I'm related too Odysseus." At that Apollo and Hermes bursted out laughing. He could hear Hermes slapping his knee in glee.
"Oh wow, he is definitely Athena's kid." He laughed.
"You can have a family bonding moment later." Percy said aloud so he had all of the gods attention. "Peter isn't the main reason I came here."
"So why are you here?" Ares asked rather rudely. Someone is still salty. Percy thought. Then he groaned internally when he realized his accidental pun. Salty? Really?
"I had a dream." Posideon shifted in his seat. "Eris said she was coming." The room broke out in a bunch of muttered conversations.
"Ugh, I hate her." Aphrodite said distinctively enough that Percy could hear her perfectly.
"What exactly happened in this dream of yours?" Hera finally said. Percy was so glad he couldn't see her face. He was still salty about what happened.
"Basically? New York City was filled with animals killing each other with a storm overhead. Then there was a field of pink trees and golden apples." Percy remembered. "And then there was a woman with a young girls voice. She was really pale and had black hair and was wearing purple. She said and I quote, 'I'm coming. I can't wait to have fun.'" Percy clasped his hands on his hips and took in the silence of the gods.
"Oh shit." Hermes said. Percy pointed at him.
"That's what I said!"
