Percy swam back to New York while the others took the quinjet and everything around him felt calmer than normal. No harsh waves, no angry dolphins or fish that want to eat Percy. Nothing. It would usually make him panic that everything was content. The calm before the storm and all that, but Percy wasn't freaking out. In fact, Percy felt nice. No fear, no anxiety, he was actually fine for once. Percy knew it was the Necklace of Harmony around his neck and he wasn't sure he wanted to take it off after defeating Eris.

But a twinge of nervousness broke through at the sound and feeling of New York when Percy arrived. New York was, in no others words, complete chaos. People were yelling, the smell of rotten apples filled the air and Percy could feel the presence of multiple monsters. He could also sense the buzzing of demigods.

"Percy? Is that you?" A voice said from faraway. Footsteps approached him and he could tell it was a demigod. "Thank the gods you're here! It's so good to see you. No offense." It told a minute but Per y was finally able to distinguish the voice.

"Travis!" Percy said happily. "Tell me what's going on." And so Travis did.

"I don't know man! Some harpy looking chick was flying around the city dropping golden apples and when they landed monsters appeared!"

"She's summoning them?" Percy asked.

"Maybe? Who is she? Oh man are we gonna have another war?" He sighed heavily.

"It's Eris. Goddess of discord and chaos."

"Of course she is."

"But we have a plan." Percy smiled.

"And by we do you mean Annabeth has a plan?" Travis asked.

"Yes. Well no. Okay we made a plan together with the help of some mortal superheroes that call themselves the Avengers." Percy could hear monsters coming towards them. They were small but many.

"Do you wanna take care of them or...?" Travis didn't finish his sentence before Percy uncapped Riptide and dove head first into the swarm of small monsters. They were easy. Percy could sense where each one was and before he knew it, they are all turned to dust. "Right." Travis added.  "Wait. Did you say you're working with the Avengers?"

"You know them?" If anyone knew who they were it was the Hermes Cabin. While sneaking out into the city, they must have heard something about Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

"Hades yeah! Percy, dude, that's so cool." Travis laughed. Percy sensed more monsters coming their way.

"Travis, can you tell the camp that they are on monster duty? We'll take care of Eris. And get the mortals out of danger." He demanded. Travis snickered.

"Yessir." Percy could tell he was smirking without seeing him. He ran off on what was most likely the way to camp while Percy ran into the city to try and find Annabeth and the others.

He kept Riptide out, slashing and cutting down any monster that got too close. His adrenaline was pumping and a smile spread across Percy's face. This is what he was made to do. Protect. Fight. Win.

He heard rather than sensed the others after cutting down roughly 30 monsters only getting a small cut on his non dominant arm. He willed the blood to not spill.

"Any sign of Eris?" Percy asked when he approached Annabeth.

"No. They're too many monsters and only some of the Avengers can see them." Percy noticed only Peter, Natasha and Bucky were with her.

"I ran into Travis. I left the monsters to the campers. We have to deal with Eris." He told her. She made a sound of agreement and pulled lightly on the necklace.

"Don't loose that." She joked. Percy grabbed her by the arm and pulled her in for a kiss. And just like every kiss with Annabeth, it was amazing. Like fireworks inside his stomach, like seeing her in his dreams once in a while, like putting all of his hopes that she would be careful and strong during this fight. And he felt her own hopes in the kiss. The hopes that they will meet again after all of this is done.

"It's a tradition right?" He smiled and he could feel the blood rush to her cheeks. "Love you Wise Girl." They let go of each other except for where Annabeth held Percy's hand. "Let's head to Avengers Compound." They began to run with Annabeth leading them by his hand. It's not like he wouldn't follow her anywhere anyway.
