"Annie, please stop hitting me." Percy begged as Annabeth once again whacked him with her hardcover textbook.

"Are you stupid?" She asked. "How could you think that was a good idea?" Another whack. "And why didn't you tell me first?" She dropped her book and was breathing pretty hard. "You didn't get another quest did you?" She breathed. Percy flopped onto his bed and groaned.

"Not exactly. They never said I had to do anything. It was just Themis who said me and the others have to find her." Percy really hoped that didn't count as a quest. He didn't get a prophecy so he hoped he was in the clear.

"The others and I." She corrected. Percy snorted. "Right. The Avengers." She said plainly. "You didn't tell me about what happened with them either." Percy could practically see her pout. He held out his hand and Annabeth took it. It was rough and calloused and perfect. He tugged and pulled her onto the bed with him. She laughed and Percy wrapped his arms around her tightly. She smelt like charcoal and everything that Percy loved.

"It wasn't what I thought it would be. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that. It was really overwhelming." He relaxed against his mattress. "Then I came home the first time meeting them and I had a panic attack. I didn't think I was going back after that."

"Then you had your dream." Annabeth continued.

"And then I had my dream. You know coincidences never happen in our lives." She nodded in his arms. "So I had to ask them if they knew anything but they didn't."

"Except for Peter." She added again. "Who is my half-brother who was never claimed."

"Except for Peter who is your half-brother that I made your mother claim." Percy agreed.

"You yelled at her, didn't you." He groaned.

"Your relationship with her was decent. I didn't want to ruin that for you." Annabeth turned so she was facing Percy. She ran her hand through his hair. He closed his eyes and smiled lightly.

"Thank you." She kissed his forehead. "But I think I want to meet him."

"He wants to meet you too. I think you guys would get along." Percy said quietly. Annabeth's soft and slow motions in his hair was putting  him to sleep.

And when Percy sleeps, Percy dreams.

He was in the Avengers Compound. It was his first time seeing it but he knew he was there. It had large windows and it was sunny outside. Although it was dark inside the building as if under a dark cloud. He began walking around and when he got to the stairs he followed the twenty steps and entered the common area. The stench of blood immediately hit Percy so hard he quickly covered his nose and nearly fell back. How he didn't smell it from downstairs, Percy didn't know.

But he quickly found the source of the smell. Bodies were scattered all over the place in various uncomfortable looking positions. He didn't want to move closer so he took in what he could from his spot. A woman in a black suit was draped over couch, a man in red, white and blue was on his back, staring emptily at the ceiling, someone in a red suit of armor was face down, a man with dark messy hair had his arms and legs bent in impossible ways. When he looked up Percy saw a man in a sleeveless suit hanging from the rafters, a body wrapped in white string stuck to the ceiling and a man with a metal arm slumped against the wall. All of them were covered in blood. It smelt fresh.

The metal arm sent a shiver down Percy's spine. He remembered the way Bucky's blood didn't go to one of his arms. The same arm that was metal and crushed like someone heavy stepped on it, attached to a man with long hair. Because of that, Percy knew what he was seeing. It was the Avengers. Or more specifically, their bodies. Without another thought Percy ran up to the closest person, the man in red, white and blue, and bent down. His heart was beating but very slowly and faintly. He moved to everyone in the room and all the same result. They were alive but barely.

Percy stood up and looked around the whole room. When he looked out the window he saw a girl sitting outside on the railing of the balcony. She looked like she was about to fall but she body stayed still like it was defying physics. He ran outside and looked at the girl who now looked like a woman. She hair was still black and long but her dress was red and she was wings coming from her back. Unlike the batlike wings of the Furies, these wings were made of different colored feathers. But they looked messy. Some feathers were missing and some were discolored and not as bright as the others.

"Are you Eris?" He asked. His voice sounded weird, like he was being muffled. The woman turned and Percy was met with a sharp smile that quite literally went from ear to ear.

"Percy Jackson." She said in his mind, like she did in his first dream. "How do you like my new decorations?" She gestured to the common area. Percy had to remind himself that this was a dream, that the Avengers were safe for the moment. At least he hoped. He might not be there biggest fan but he didn't want them to die.

"What do you want with them? What do you want from me?" He vision began to spin. Eris suddenly appeared in front of Percy but his vision was now upside down. She tilted her head the same way until her face was upside down too.

"You, Percy Jackson, are one of the best examples of chaos I have ever seen." She asked. Her voice still sounded like a child's. "The wars, the fighting, the killing. Even before your claiming, the bullies, being kicked out a schools, Gabe." His breathe hitched. He hasn't thought about his former step-father in a long time. "All this chaos and I had nothing to do with it." If it was even possible, her smile got wider. It reminded Percy of a crescent moon, or the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland. "Who do you think the Cheshire Cat was based on?" She asked as if she could read his mind. She probably could.

"You didn't answer my question." Percy said bravely. When his vision went back to being straight, Eris's head was right side up as well. "What do you want?"

"Do you see those people in there?" She pointed to the common area. He nodded. "They are like you. Surrounded by chaos and thriving in it. When that is all you've ever known it's easy to accept the weird and crazy around you." She snapped her fingers and it began raining. It smelt like cotton candy. He stuck his taste out. It tasted like cotton candy. "I'm not evil. It wasn't entirely my fault for what happened in Troy those many years ago. I was just envious and wanted to stir up some harmless trouble. It was the others that took it to the next level." She held up a blue ice cream cone from who knows where. "Here, eat. I know blue is your favorite color." Percy cautiously took a lick. It didn't taste half bad so he continued to eat it.

"Once again," Percy was getting impatient, "What do you want?"

"I want everyone to be like you, Percy Jackson." He froze. "I want the whole world to thrive in chaos and discord. Even if I have to create it myself." Her wings flapped and she flew over to stand on the railing, she leaned forward looking down. "This reality is terrible. Mortals are evil. Gods are evil. But, if everyone lost their minds," She spread her arms out wide. "If everyone was surrounded by chaos then people who being to come together." Percy was very confused. And not a forced confusion.

"That makes no sense." Percy said without thinking. Of course it doesn't make sense. Nothing with this deity would make sense. She's the embodiment of pure chaos.

"Haven't you ever heard of the phase 'trauma bonding'?" She turned to ask. "Trust me Percy Jackson," Percy never wanted to hear those words coming from a god. "When I turn this world upside down, everything will be better." Percy pointed at the bodies of the Avengers still inside.

"What about that? If your so called new world would be better for everyone than why are they half dead?" He shouted. She sharp smile returned. "And what does this have to do with me?" She pointed to the common area. Percy turned.

"I think you might have missed an important piece of the puzzle." Percy knew what she was talking about even before she finished her sentence. It was laying there in the middle of the floor, how he didn't see it there before he didn't know. He would know it in darkness, he knew it blind. Ridetide, covered in bright red blood. Percy stumbled back and he noticed his hands. Covered in the same blood. His sword that one no else can use, his hands both painted with blood. Eris appeared right next to his ear. "We have to start our crazy world somewhere." She whispered. "You, Percy Jackson, will be my weapon." Percy didn't move, couldn't move. "I want you to kill the Avengers."
