Fay's pov________________________

A week goes by, and everyone has taken the time to get back to normal. Fix the damages Ken has done to the school.

Have a memorial for Ethan. He wasn't a part of the Squad for that long, but in the end, he died to save the school.

Hope and I were in our room. She held the spear that was made from Jen. She fled the minute she found out that her father had died. As for Ben, he is still with us at the school. Jed and Ben are in love with each other.

"Oh, hey." Hope turns to me. "I forgot to give you this." I grabbed the urn from my desk and handed it out for her.

"He funded this school for me so that I'd always have a place to call home. I figured I would honor that by scattering them here, " Hope says to me as she put it down beside her nightstand.

"That's nice, Hope," I said to her. "I'm glad you get to do that for him,"

"Do you know what I am supposed to do with this?" Hope asked."It can't be destroyed. If I leave it out in the open, people are going to come for it, and if I hide it, then I'm the only one who knows where it is. "

"Isn't that a good thing?" I asked her confused.

"Not if I ever lose my way again," Hope says with a frown.

"I don't think that is going to happen," I said, reassuring her.

Hope chuckles. "Yeah, well, no one should have that kind of power. Especially not a Mikaelson"

Alaric's voice turned on the intercom "All students, please report to the grand hall for an assembly"

Hope and I made our way down, and I sat next to Nathan.

"Thank you all for being here," Alaric says. "You know, I made Ethan's mother a promise. The same promise I made to your parents when they enrolled you here, that I would care for you as if you were my own. But here we are, memorializing yet another student. And that is not what this place was meant to be. The Salvatore School was founded with a single mission: to create a safe space for young supernaturals"

"In  reality, it's anything but achieving our mission statement - my mission statement has proven impossible." Alaric clears his throat. "And because I can no longer keep my promise... The Salvatore School must close"

Everyone broke out into disbelief.

Nathan and I look at each other with confusion.

Hope stood up. "I have nothing more to say," Alaric said. "Other than I'm sorry," then he walked away.

Havoc broke lose as people started talking.

"He can't close the school. He just can't," Lizzie said as she cried into MG's shoulder.

"Why would he do this?" Hope whispered in shock and hurt and any other emotion she must be feeling.

Hope stormed off, and I decided to follow her, and she went to the Alaric office.

"Are you out of your mind? You can't just make this decision without consulting anyone" Hope says to him.

"And what makes you think I haven't?" Alaric asked.

"You didn't consult us," I said, and Hope nodded, agreeing with me.

"If you did, I would have told you we need this place. I need this place, " Hope says.

"Hope and Fay Mikaelson is one person I am confident will find a path, it's you," Alaric says.

"A new path..." I thought.

"I don't want a new path. I just got back on this path, " Hope argued.

"This path leads to dead kids," Alaric said, and Hope froze. "Take it from a former bourbon drinker: just because something feels good doesn't make it right. Saying goodbye, this school will hurt. But each day will get better. If we keep doing what we have been, the pain will only get worse. "

"Maybe we don't need to close. Maybe we just need a headmaster who can handle the pressure. " Hope the storms out.

"She didn't mean that," I tell him.

"I know, but what if she's right?" Alaric asked.

"You are the school, Alaric. No one can replace you even if they do, " I tell him.

"Thank you, Fay,totally," he smiles at me.

"You mentioned a new path? How do I find it?" I asked him.

"You thinking of leaving?" he asked, and I nodded my head.

"I don't know if it took almost getting killed by a god or seeing Nathan dead to realize that life is short, even for a vampire. My parents have seen it all, while I haven't. Maybe I want what they had... My Aunt Rebekah travels a lot... I wanted to do that. "

"Maybe you still could," Alaric tells me.

"But why do I feel guilty? If this place closes, maybe It wouldn't hurt as much as betrayal to Hope. But if she found a way to keep this place open, I can't tell her. I don't think I should stay here anymore... What do I do? Tell me what to do, " I ranted.

Alaric walks over to me and puts one hand on my shoulder. "You and I may not have started off as friends, but you are extortionary. Nothing like your parents, and yet still them. There is nothing you can't do... Sometimes, taking a leap of faith and just doing it works, and if you change your mind, you will always have a home here at the Salvatore School. " Alaric smiles at me.

"Wow... You're really good at this, " I tell him.

"Hey, what can I say?" Alaric asked, and I chuckled.

"Thanks, Alaric, for everything," I said to him.

"It's my pleasure, Fay Mikaelson." We hug for a few minutes.

We broke apart, and I left his office.

Lizzie's pov___________________

A few hours sense, dad's assembly goes by, and dad and I sat down as MG tires to talk him out of it.

"I've brought you both here to talk some sense into you," MG said.

"Milton -"

"Don't Milton me. Milton is a name wielded by bullies or my loved ones, and right now, y'all are stuck dangerously in the middle, " MG says.

"This seems like a private conversation." Dad went to stand.

"Sit," MG said, and dad signed, sitting back down.

"You can't close the school, Dr. Saltzman, because each one of these files is a person. With a life, who needs a home? " MG tells him.

"Face facts, MG. This school is dangerous for every person in that place. Every time we solve a problem, another one just pops up, " I tell him. I mean, I don't want the school to shut down, but knowing my dad, there is no talking him out of it.

"Their problems are why they ended up here in the first place," MG says, sitting down in front of us.

"To be safe," dad says.

"The world is not safe for supernaturals. What we have here is a home. A family. You are breaking up the Squad. " MG tries to guilt trip dad.

"Do you think I want this? Caroline and I built this school for our daughters, " dad defended himself.

I shook my head. "We've all been through too much. We need a fresh start, " I tell MG.

MG scoffs and stands up. "That is a load of crap. You are running from grief because you don't want to hurt anymore and in making this decision for all of us, you're doing exactly the thing that you promised Landon you wouldn't" MG said to dad.

Then he turned to me. "When Josie left, you made some bad decisions. So you would rather cling to her than stay here and face a life that's different? So yeah, like I said, load of crap, " MG said, then stormed off.

Dad signs, and we stare at each other.
