The next morning, I woke up before Hope did and sneaked out of the school with Jace. He planned a picnic before the detention with Alaric.
Jace took my hand and led me deep into the woods and their laid a picnic blanket and food. We sat down and got talking.
"So do you have any other siblings that I should know about?" I asked him.
"I only have a younger sister, Maya. No secret siblings" Jace said.
"How old is she?" I asked.
"She's 13 years old" He said "What about you?" He asked.
"I only had an older sister. Nadia" I said, and he nods.
"You mentioned her before, what she was like?" He asked.
"She was great. I barely knew her, but she checked up on me a few times when I was a kid. Made sure I was happy where I was. Growing up I was in foster system until mom found me. Nadia died and it was awful" I said.
We talked for hours until we got back just in time.
"Alright you two. We will be going to pick up trash in Mystic Falls" Alaric said.
We hopped onto the bus and the entire way no one said a word. We get there and we receive gloves and trash bags.
"Ugh, this is going to take forever" Hope complained.
I roll my eyes and get to work. I managed to finish before Hope, so we had to wait on her.
"Rick I'm not used to this" Hope yelled at him.
"Keep going Hope. No one is leaving until you're done" Alaric said.
About an hour and a half, she was finished. We didn't say a word to each other which was better this way.
Once back at school I ran into Penelope "How was your detention date with Hope?" She asked.
"Why are you talking to me?" I asked annoyed.
"I figured you hate her, I hate her" she said.
"Do you want a gold metal?" I asked and got no response, so I walked away from her. Caroline found me.
"Fay. Come in here" Caroline said and we walked into her office. I see her friends Bonnie and Elena. Mom's doppelganger.
"Didn't realize you had company" I said.
"We were just talking about you" Caroline said.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"I got some good news. You know Simon the kids you used to be friends with when you were a kid?" Caroline asked.
"Yeah why?" I nod my head.
"Apparently he is a newly transformed vampire and is transferring here" she said.
"No way" I said with a smile and the doors open to Simon walking in.
"Simon" I said, and we hugged.
