MARIA WATCHED AS ENID talked to Wednesday. "Careful, that's my cold shoulder." Wednesday warned Thing, who was crawling on Wednesday's shoulder, curious on to what she was drawing. Things crawls down, a bit saddened. "Don't blame Thing. The party was my idea. I believe everyone deserves to be celebrated on their birthday." Enid said, before swivelling around to face Maria.
"That reminds me! When's your birthday?" Enid asked. Maria looked away. "Uh.. I don't remember." Maria whispered. Enid didn't hear her. "Huh? Sorry I didn't hear you." Enid said, coming closer to the girl. "I don't remember." Maria mumbled and Enid gasped, even Wednesday looks at her in a bit of bafflement,
"You don't know when your birthday is?!" Enid exclaimed, shocked. Maria looked down, embarrassed. "Uh.. well I've never actually celebrated my birthday. My mother died when I was six and I don't remember any birthday celebrations. Viktor never cared either so." Maria mumbled, looking down, ashamed. Enid gives her a hug. "Don't be embarrassed!" Enid said, Maria smiled slightly. "I can ask Weems if you want?" Maria offered and Enid grinned, nodding.
Because it was after midnight, Maria got rid of her extra wolf features. Enid whined and complained about it but Maria wouldn't budge. She thought it was slightly embarrassing walking around like that, especially if it makes her look cute. Enid looks at Wednesday and goes to speak. "I prefer to be vilified." Wednesday said, stopping her. "What happened? It looked like you were having a seizure. We were lucky Maria caught you." Enid asked, concerned.
"I wasn't that lucky." Wednesday said, continuing to sketch. "Hey can we at least get some kudos? we had to do a one-over on you." Maria said. Wednesday stopped sketching, staring blankly at the wall infront of her. "The subterfuge was impressive." Wednesday replied, looking at Thing, who was opening a drawer. Wednesday got up from her desk, moving the drawer around.
Maria looked at her phone, seeing a text message. Her eyes widen and a grin spreads across her face. She checks her watch, fake gasping. "Oh I have to go." Maria said, going to the door. "Where are you going?" Wednesday asked. Maria freezes. "Uh- I've got to go to practice okayseeyoulaterbye-!" Maria said, running out the door. Wednesday looked at Enid. "She doesn't have practice until later." Wednesday informed the girl.
Maria ran down the halls of Nevermore, people look at her, wondering why she was so happy by the giant grin spread on her face. She runs behind Nevermore, hopping on her dirtbike, not bothering to find her helmet in the bushes and kicks down, and pulls the ignition and leaves Nevermore.
