Bonding

Chris POV

Minika storms off to my old bedroom. She isn't happy we won't be going out, she wants to go for a meal and drinks and dancing but I've told her today I spend with my family. With Luca. I met her a couple of months ago and we hit it off. But I know my family aren't keen on her and neither is Luca. I know he doesn't like her but I really want them to get along. Now with Mia here, Minika is jealous because everyone loves Mia.

I walk out the door, seeing Mia leaving there a few minutes ago. When I step out I hear shouting.
"What the hell? So now he controls you......."
I stand just listening for little while, I hear Mia getting really upset. It must be because her sister isn't here when she promised she would be. In complete honesty I'm not a big fan of her husband he is really controlling and seems to want to keep her away from us and Mia.

She hangs up and sits down on my mums swing, I hear her sniffling and I know she is crying. I sit down next to her and wrap my arm around her. She leans her head on my shoulder. I rub her arm gently "that your sister?"
She nods "she said she isn't seeing me at all this Christmas or even maybe new year because John wants her with him"
"At all?"
She shakes her head and wipes her tears.

"I haven't seen my sister in 6 months, I barley speak to her anymore and Avery, she is growing up so quickly, she isn't going to know who I am"
I pull her in tightly and she wraps her arms around my waist.
"She will know you Mia, she loves you"
"I just hate this. I'm here with you guys and so should she be, but he has so much control over her I just don't know what to do"
"There isn't anything you can do M, she has to see it for herself"

"Why are you always right?"
I laugh "it's a gift"
She finally laughs and sits up "you and Minika okay?"
I sigh and look down "no. She wants to go out but obviously Christmas Eve is all about family for me so she isn't happy"
"Maybe I should go talk to her?"
"You don't have to do that."
"Well maybe she needs someone to be nice to her. I mean I love your family chris and they always have treated me amazingly but there not exactly too friendly with her"

"You noticed that too?"
She nods "let me try. No one should be grumpy at Christmas"
"Did you just change a classic line from the grinch?"
"Maybe" I can't help but laugh, I pull her in for another hug.
"Okay, human torch. Your crushing me"
"I'm so glad your home Mia"
"Me too" she kisses my cheek and we head on inside. She walks to my old room to talk to Minika. I just hope everything will be ok.

Mia is usually good at this stuff so hopefully she can get Minika to open up a little and get more involved. I go to the kitchen where my mum is getting the cupcakes ready for us to all decorate. It's something we do every year and so far Mia has won twice so now it's my turn.
