Friendship

Chris POV

Mia fell asleep so I moved her to the guest room, I know she hasn't been sleeping well at all, my Ma told me so I hope she can get some rest. I have to admit I was shocked when she turned up here but to hear that she felt safe with me made me so happy. After everything with Minika I thought I had completely screwed up our friendship forever. I had a meeting so I decided to go and take it in the living room so I didn't disturb Mia.

Just as the meeting was come to and end I heard some shouting coming from the room where Mia was. I hang up on my agent and run to the room. Mia is in the middle of the bed, tossing and turning and shouting.
"No! Please don't!! Please"
I walk towards her and try to wake her up
"Mia!! Mia wake up!! Sweetheart it's not real"
After a few minutes she opens her eyes and I see the fear. She sits up and starts to cry.
"He was.......Chris.....I"
"I know shhhh it's okay"

I wrap my arms around her and she sinks into me, sobbing into my chest.
"Are you hungry?"
She nods, so I help her out of bed and take her to the kitchen to make her some food.
Once she has finished eating, we go to sit in the living room.
"When's Luca coming back?"
"He isn't tonight, scott took him out for a birthday treat so he is staying at Scott and Steve's tonight"

"That's nice for him"
"Yeah, he loves spending time with his uncle so it helps me out so I can get some things done"
"Oh god! Chris I'm so sorry"
"Sorry for what?"
"I just turned up here and I didn't even think about what you probably had planned today. I'm just going to go"
"Mia..."
"No it's okay. I'll go I'm sorry"
I grab her arm, turning her to face me "you don't have to go anywhere. I'm happy your here"

"Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure. I had one meeting today which I got done while you were sleeping. I don't really have anything else apart from some emails but they can wait"
"Chris I don't want to stop..."
"Your not. With everything that's happened Mia I'm just happy to be spending some time with you"
"Me too"
She smiles, an actual smile which I haven't seen for a long time.

"There she is"
She looks at me confused "your smile. I haven't seen it for a while"
"Yeah. Not had much to smile about to be honest"
I nod "you heard from your sister?"
She shakes her head "she called me when I got out of the hospital but that's it. She said she couldn't come see me right now"
"That's ridiculous"
She shrugs "we just aren't as close as we used to be"
"I understand that but Mia what you went through, you needed her here"

"I know but I have you and the family so I'm okay"
I smile "well you know we are always here for
You. And I think your incredible Mia what you've been through your still standing."
"I don't think I could have done any of it without you guys"
I hug her tight "how do you do that?"
"Do what?"
"The minute you hug me, you just instantly relax me"
"I don't know"

We just sit there for a few moment when she yawns "still tired?"
"Yeah I've not been sleeping well, not at all to be honest"
"Nightmares?"
She nods "they just won't go away"
"Why don't you sleep here tonight?"
"I can't do that"
"Yes you can. It's okay really"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course"

After dinner we settle down on the sofa again, she lays her head on my lap and we watch a movie. I hear her breathing even out and I know she has fallen asleep. I can't help but notice she seems at peace right now. Maybe staying here was a good idea.
