Chris POV

We are all sat around listening to stories, everyone is loving Lucy. We met on the flight and we just clicked. We spent a lot of time together and things just happened naturally. Luca loved her and I'm so glad everyone else seems too. I look around and notice Mia is missing. I've missed her a lot but after having some time away I realised the thought of me and her wasn't right. She is my best friend and I would hate to ruin that.

"Hey Scott where's Mia?"
He looks behind him and I see the confused look "I don't know. She was right behind me"
I get up and kiss Lucy on the head "I'm just going to find Mia"
"Okay"
I walk around the whole house and can't find her. I walk to the kitchen my phone in my hand and see my Ma standing my the counter.

"Find Mia?"
"No. She isn't here"
"What?"
"She isn't in the house"
"Have you called her?"
"Just about too"
I ring her number and after a few rings she finally answers.
"Hey, where are you?"
"I came home" I can hear in her voice she has been crying.
"Mia why? What's wrong?"
"Just not feeling great"
"I'll come and bring...."

"No Chris. Just enjoy Christmas. I'll see you soon"
She hangs up before I can even say anything else.
"What's wrong?"
"She said she went home. She's not feeling well"
"What? That's not like her"
"I know. Has she been okay while I've been away?"
"She's been busy. She's been writing and also supporting other woman who went through similar things to her. But she's been okay. She's missed you and Luca"
"We missed her too. Maybe I should go talk to her"

"I wouldn't"
I hear Scott say behind me "just leave her be Chris"
"What do you know Scott?"
"Nothing she just needs some space"
"Space from what? Me?"
He doesn't say anything, he walks into the living room and sits down.
"Why would she need space from me?"
My Ma shrugs "I'm not sure sweetie but if Scott's telling you to leave her be maybe just do it. She will come to you when she is ready"

I'm just so confused, I don't understand why she needs space from me. I don't know what I've done.
"You okay babe?"
I turn and see Lucy standing there and then it clicks. Shit! I nearly kissed Mia before I left and now I've bought home a girlfriend without even speaking to her about it.
"Yeah. I just need to pop out for a bit. You okay here?"
"Yeah of course"
"Don't tell anyone I've gone okay. Just say I'm on the phone please"

She looked at me confused but smiled "of course"
She kisses me and I slip out before anyone can stop me.
I drive over to Mias house and knock on the door.
When she answers I can see she has been crying.
"Chris I said I was fine"
"Your not Mia and I know your not sick"
She shakes her head and I can see more tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Mia im so sorry. I didn't think, I should have told you about Lucy"
"It's fine Chris. I just want to be alone okay"

"Mia please....."
"No. Please just go"
"Mia....."
She looks up at me and I can see the hurt in her eyes.
"Chris. Please. I just need time"
I nod "okay. But im here okay. And Luca missed you so much. So did I."
She nods "I missed you both too"
I turn and head back to the car, before I get in I looked back at her and can see her crying more as she shuts the door. Shit what have I done.

As I walk through the door I see Scott standing there looking pissed
"You went and saw her after I said not to didnt you?"
"I had to okay. I know I fucked up scott"
"You think. You nearly kissed her Chris and then you bring home someone else"
"You know about the...."
"I saw it. She's in love with you. And you've broken her"
"She's what?"
"You heard me. If your serious about Lucy, then just stay away from Mia for a while Chris. She has too much going on right now"

"I know"
He walks away and I can see how angry he is with me, he looks at Mia like a sister and now it's my fault she isn't here for Christmas. When I left my feelings for Mia were confusing and I didn't know what I felt. But when I met Lucy, it just felt right and I didn't even think about Mia. Which makes me the number one douche bag right now. I need to fix this somehow.
