"Is our Squirrel alright?" Soap joked, trying to lighten the mood. You gave him a middle finger instead, and he laughed.

"She's definitely got the spirit" Gaz replied.

Ghost sat you down, before sitting himself next to you.
"I talked with Laswell. Our next objective is to rendezvous with Price," he said to the others, and then turned to look at you.

"You will stay in base and talk to us over the radio. It's safer for you and you won't have to move." despite his cold voice, his eyes showed concern. Everyone was concerned, they just didn't want to overwhelm you.

The rendezvous point with Price was located in a base in the Tian shin mountains. The plan was to discuss all achieved Intel to form a thorough plan to assassinate both Shephard and Makarov. Considering the changes that happened with the timeline, if you don't look over the Intel, you might end up causing more harm instead.

"What's on your mind?" Ghost asked, his head slightly tilted downwards so he was looking at you. You could see Gaz and Soap subtly looking at you as well.

"I'm just thinking if this was the right thing to do." you looked down. Everyone kept silent, not knowing what to say. To them, it was. But to you? You were forced to join for your own safety. Of course, you would have some sort of doubt.

"Do you regret it?" Ghost asked, placing a hand on your knee.

"Regret what exactly?" you replied with another question.

"The changes that happened because of you." did you? Of course not. They are still alive because of these changes. It's the future you were worried about.

"No, I don't," you muttered to yourself.

"Are you scared to die then?" Soap was the one who questioned this time.

"No shit Sherlock, who isn't?" they all just blankly stared at you.

"What? Don't you all have some sort of goals you want to achieve or someone who you would regret leaving behind if you die?"

"do soldiers have some underlying suicide thoughts or what?" you thought to yourself as they continued to stare at you. It was starting to get uncomfortable as you fidgeted in your seat.

"We are soldiers Squirrel. This is what we do, we are prepared to put our life on the line at any given moment for the safety of others." Ghost's voice broke the silence.

"If one of us dies, and they have someone they care for. The rest of us would care for them. We are not just a work team after we fight together." he reassuringly squeezed your knee.

"We are more than that,".

"Have some faith in us," Soap chimed in.

"We always got your back,"

"Well, damn" you looked down, not wanting them to see your glossed eyes.

The rest of the ride was peaceful, with the occasional attempts from Soap to crack jokes to lighten the mood, and Ghost replying with his dark ones in response. You leaned back in your chair, trying to think about anything but the pain in your leg.

"What happened to Alex by the way? He was the other prisoner. Where did he go?" you asked, recalling what went down in that prison.

"He's part of Farah's forces, so of course, he stayed behind. Plus you know he's wanted for going off-course in his last mission." you nodded your head.

"Still, who knew he would be held there as well? Isn't it funny? How fate works." Gaz said.

"Well, thanks to him, we managed to get the intel. We would have failed if he wasn't there," you replied.

The helicopter landed after some time, and Ghost kneeled in front of you again, motioning for you to get on his back once again. You leaned forward, placing your arms around his neck as he put both of his hands under your knees.
Muffled laughs came from behind you, and you threw a dagger look at Soap and Gaz as Ghost proceeded to exit the helicopter.

The place was empty. Apparently, Price was still on the way. Ghost sat you down in one of the chairs before going into one of the rooms to do whatever.

"this is going to be a serious pain in the ass, how the hell am I supposed to use the toilet then??" your thoughts were cut short when Ghost returned with crutches and placed them by your side.

"A special medic will see you soon, this should help you move around when no one else is around, don't push yourself too much," he said.

You looked up at him, almost teary-eyed. "SAVIOUR!"

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." he nodded his head at you before leaving again.
