"That won't happen." All eyes were on Price now.

"What do you mean? How do you know for sure??" you raised a questioning eyebrow.

"Did he know something all along and chose not to tell me??".

"Based on how you got here, it's unlikely for you to just disappear and go back like that." you shook your head, not understanding what he meant.

"When you came here, you had a clear connection to our world. You knew us on an almost personal level, and you knew our world." he paused for a second before continuing.

"The connection to your world, as of right now is not there. We know nothing about you or your world. Maybe your world is a game in ours, or maybe it's something else, but you don't have a direct connection to it like you did to ours when the teleportation happened." he pretty much made sense with his explanation, and you lowered your head, staring at your boots.

"...of course it would make a difference if you chose to stay, you are one of us after all, regardless of what you think," Gaz answered your previous question.

"Soooo does that mean you will stay?" Soap chimed, while the others were looking at you intently.

"What happens if I say yes?" you asked.

"It's simple, you get an identity and everything to acknowledge your existence. Since you are with us now, you get a monthly paycheck as well. You will continue to work with us, unless of course you choose not to." Price explained as he leaned back in his seat.

"If your answer is no. Laswell will keep our end of the deal, and we will search for a connection to your world. Once we find it, we will see if it works the same way as it did when you came here. If it works that's good. If it doesn't, we will have to reach out to researchers and scientists who indulge in these subjects and have extensive knowledge about it. They can provide a lot more than us." he ended it with that.

"Is there any chance you can search for that connection even if I want to stay?" you hesitantly asked.

"Yeah, we can do that too." He replied.

"Thank God he didn't ask for the reasoning,"  you thought to yourself.

In reality, you were worried that if you chose to stay, you may suffer in this world. You wanted a back door in case everything goes downhill. The rest of the flight was silent. The guys fell asleep at one point, with the exception of Ghost who was carving into his log.

You couldn't get any sleep, this decision was going to change your life for good. You had to be wise about it, you loved the team, you really did. But all the things you went through during the missions were horrifying. More horrible things are bound to come as long as you keep serving in the military. You can't even guarantee your safety or the safety of those around you anymore.

You looked at Ghost, who was almost done with his carving. He looked at you for a moment, before lowering his head until he is face-to-face with you.

"There, I promised you if you make it to the end, you will get a sculpture," he whispered, handing you two sculptures instead of one. One he carved just now, and the other was the one you saw him carving before. The one he carved now wasn't a Phoenix. It was a squirrel. You looked at him weirdly while trying to hold back a smile.

"A squirrel? Really?" you ended up smiling at him anyways.

"If you choose to go, the Phoenix is to remember us, and the Squirrel is to remember me." he leaned back and closed his eyes.

You looked at your newly acquired sculptures, your smile slowly fading away. Did you have anyone that cared about you like that back in your universe? All the dreams you had were horrible. All the memories that you remember were bad. You risked your life here, but at least you were appreciated. You were happy. You are happy here.

"I want to stay here," Simon turned his head to look at you, his eyes widening. You looked back at him with your newly found determination.

"I want to stay here, with you"
