You watched as the RPG flew at light's speed toward the helicopter, everything seemed to slow down. The screams in the background yelling at Nikolai to move before it's too late, the panic in everyone's eyes. It was too late already, there was no way Nikolai would make it in time.

The RPG exploded halfway in the air, seconds before hitting the helicopter. Which sent airwaves causing it to fly off course. However, Nikolai quickly managed to get it back on track. You looked to your side, to see Ghost still holding his sniper. Smoke coming out of the muzzle, indicating that he just shot another bullet. He looked back at you as you stared in amazement. How the fuck did he manage to do that?

"Holy shit Simon. Nice shot" you exclaimed. His eyes momentarily widened at the use of his name before going back to their normal tired stance, which made you realize what you just did.

"I mean Ghost" you cleared your throat as uncomfortable gazes fell upon you. Where was Soap when you needed him?

Hours passed and you managed to safely make it to the rendezvous point, Soap was already there waiting for the team. Man looked ready to take on the world with how wide his grin was, but it quickly fell down when he saw your smoked faces.

"I thought y'all were taking it easy? I understand Gaz and Captain Price, but why do you two look like you came straight out of the oven?" he said, pointing at you and Ghost.

"Because we got baked" you raised your fist as he bumped his with yours.

"You would make for terrible food" he joked.

"I'm sure I would still be better than you," you nudged him before walking past him and after the others into the base.

"Before we start, how's your leg (y/n)? It won't get in the way right?" Price asked, eyeing you.

"I'm as good as new Captain" you responded, doing a kicking motion with your leg.

"Good, I need you, Ghost, and Soap to take over watch on the front side of Makarov's base, me and Gaz will take the riverside. Yuri, Nikolai, and Nikolai's forces will drive Makarov out, once you have a clear shot, Drop him." he looked at everyone standing in the room intently before continuing.

"This is our only chance to prevent a possible war from breaking out. So if you are not ready, this is your chance to back out." no one moved, every single person in the room had a determined look on their face.

You waited until it was dark outside to move, the weather cast reported foggy weather, so it was your chance to get in without getting detected. You got to the rooftop that was directly facing the base, using a thermal scope to detect any living being in the fog. Ghost was in the building right next to yours, while Soap was on a building facing the left side of the targeted building.

"Price to Ghost, are you ready?" Price's quiet voice echoed through your radio.

"Yes sir," Ghost replied.

Within 5 minutes, the front door was blown open, and hordes of Nikolai's men dashed towards the building. Through the windows, you could see the fierce ongoing battle between the two forces, but no sign of Makarov yet. The exchange of gunfire continued on for 20 minutes before you managed to get a visual on Yuri running to the second floor, Nikolai's forces following a few minutes after.

"_ __-w wh-__ -ou have- _-ne, Yuri. I know- __-w you have- __ld them. My f-_-d. M- a-_y. My b-_tr_-er. What happens here today, ___- change the -____ forever. Nothing can ___-this. Not even you."

the radio was lagging, but you managed to get snippets from what you assumed was Makarov talking to Yuri. Another explosion blasted in the building, and Makarov was finally visible on the rooftop. A helicopter was approaching from the distance, possibly to extract him. But it was shot down by non-other than Gaz, leaving Makarov stranded on the rooftop.

Focusing your scope to his location, you were about to pull the trigger when he suddenly jerked his head in your direction and smirked at you. Your blood ran cold when you saw the remote detonator in his hand, and you pulled the trigger, placing a bullet in his head. Hoping that you got him before he detonated whatever bombs he planted around the area.

The ground under you caved in, and you fell to the floor right below you, as more bombs detonated in the distance. The building you were in started to shake again, smoke and dust covered your eyesight, and you couldn't see anything. You didn't make it in time, and now you were paying the price of hesitating for a mere second. The radio was making statistical noises, and you couldn't make out who was saying what. The signal being affected by the explosion.

You had to make a choice, either run to the top and jump off the building or descend the building and exit it through the main door.

What are you going to do?
