Jackson didn't expect to meet Nathan again after the day he spoke to him in his office, and to think that he came to look for him in his company is another thing.

Since he came to work, he hasn't been concentrating. Even in the emergency board meeting he called earlier, he couldn't say anything reasonable and that got his workers complaining.

He dismissed everyone without hitting a single point and Mrs Briggs threw countless questions at his feet which he couldn't answer, he simply told her to give him space.

He almost gave up working that day and already decided to go to the plantation. That's the only place that he would get distracted and won't think about Vera even though he would constantly get reminded of her, when Vera's good neighbor entered his office.

"Hi," Nathan extended a hand.

Jack shook his hand, pointed at a seat and he sat down. He took his time looking at Nathan quizzically before he finally settled down and asked him what he wanted.

"I have come to talk to you about Vera. I didn't want to do this, or should I say that I wanted to ignore it and leave for good, but I can't stop thinking about the danger she's in if I don't let you know about this," he started, sighing tiredly.

"What is it about Vera? I hope she's alright?" Jack asked eagerly.

"I don't know about her other problem, but I know it exists and it's eating her up. On the other hand, there are those letters and flowers. She suspects and believes strongly that I am the one doing it, but I am not and that's why I'm here,"

"You are making me more curious. Stop beating around the bush and go straight to the point,"

"The point is that someone else is behind it and she thinks it's me. Also, I came across a girl coming out of our building few weeks ago before I left the building,"

"You don't live in the same house with her anymore?" Jack was surprised.

"I don't want to go into details, but I moved to the house near my office, the owner is a veterinarian too and we have come a long way as friends." Nathan explained.

"Alright, I don't even know what to say. Vera said that she's leaving and I don't know what to do. Honestly, I told her how I felt and that worsened everything!"

"We are on the same boat, but believe me, she loves you too and you can stop her,"

"Who said that I can? If leaving will give her peace of mind, I won't stress her,"

"Vera… needs you! Don't let her go anywhere, she's safe with you and…"

"I can't force her to stay! She hates me now because I got her pregnant and she wants to abort the baby!" Jack sprang up from his seat and paced around.

"I thought you were a tough guy, never imagined you would be this soft. Mr. Jackson Taylor, don't let her go, it's not because of you, it's for her own good! She might be pushing you away now, but she will thank you later!" Nathan advised.

"See, even if you have to act like a devil, or maybe the ruthless billionaire you were before, do it and save her. She's just confused and afraid! I'm doing this because I'm the last person she wants to see now" Nathan added, patting Jack's shoulder.

"Thanks, Nathan. I am such a big fool!" Jackson grinded his teeth.

"I wish you luck." Nathan gave him a bear hug and left.

Jackson called Mrs Briggs and reminded her about picking his son from school. He also told her to cancel all of his schedules for the remainder of the day before he left.
