[This episode contains Wenclair fluff because why not?]

Wednesday Addams was clacking the keys of her typewriter in autopilot. Creativity and flawless writing structure was second nature to her, so she didn't have to use much of her energy to work on her novella.

She felt tense, and all she could think about was the envelope that would be mailed to her today, revealing exactly what message was on the piece of bloodied paper she had found. Her mind didn't linger long on the hyde, but rather on Tyler, or what she thought had been Tyler. Could he possibly actually be trying to keep her safe? But why? Did he somehow care for her in the mess of manipulation?

It was silly to think, Wednesday honestly didn't care. She had honestly admired his dedication to his scheme, even if it ticked her off. Though she wouldn't admit it now, she had saw potential in Tyler, maybe as a tolerable....friend. Like Enid. Well, maybe not as much as Enid, but similar to that. He had seemed to always be on her side, except for with all the feelings stuff. He had seen signals, that...Wednesday had no idea she was giving him. Same with Xavier. He seemed to think he had always been in her corner, and trusted her. But all through her time he had again and again implied she was crazy.

Sure, she was kooky, but not crazy. She rode her thoughts to a halt, as Enid entered the room. Enid had a nervous looking Y/n at her right, and was carrying two shopping bags in her hand.

Wednesday's phone dinged. She ignored it, like she had been after each mysterious text that would've sent chills up any average person's spine.

'I see you.'

'Are you having fun at that empty shop?'

'How's Xavier?'

The stalker knew every little place Wednesday went, and every little thing Wednesday did, and every thing about her. Wednesday didn't have anything to hide, so let them try. She wasn't scared that easily.

Wednesday gave an aimless nod, as an undercover greeting to them. Enid gave a squeal and rushed over to invade Wednesday's section of the room. She dragged Y/n along with her.

"Wednesday! Guess what?!"

Wednesday sighed and turned her chair around. She looked Enid dead in the eye. "You know I don't like guessing games."

Enid clapped. "I know! But I'm telling you anyways so don't worry!" She wrapped her sweatered arm around Wednesday's shoulders. Wednesday reluctantly allowed the contact.

Enid continued. "Bianca invited us all to her parent's party this weekend!"

Before Wednesday could react, Y/n spoke in their small voice. "I'm still not sure why she invited me."

Enid bumped them playfully. "Cause you're cool, that's why!"

Y/n pinkened at sensing Enid's sincerity. "I don't know.."

Wednesday shook her head. "I'm not going." Without waiting for convincing, she turned back around and continued typing away.

Enid gasped, and shook Wednesday's shoulder, which earned her a slap of the wrist. She rubbed her hand. "You have to go! Her parents will be there!"

Y/n shrugged. "She doesn't have to go..."

Enid glowered. Y/n shrank back. Wednesday nodded without looking at them. "I know."

Enid stomped in her neon high tops. "Wednesday, please! Do it for me! I can't go without my bestie!!"

"Then go with your best friend,"

Enid scowled. "That's you."

"Last I checked it was anyone but me. I don't do friends."

Y/n was looking around the room awkwardly, feeling like they were intruding on a conversation.

Enid looked hurt. "So you don't see me as a friend?"

Wednesday raised an eyebrow. Enid crossed her sweatered arms. "I thought we resolved this before break."

Wednesday asked, "How so?"

"You hugged me back." Enid looked accusing.

Wednesday shrugged. "I was worried..."

Enid pointed. "Aha! So you do care!!"

Wednesday mumbled, "I suppose I tolerate you."

Enid's face spread into a grin. She pulled Wednesday into a hug. The dark girl tried to refuse, but caved in the end. Enid welcomingly pulled Y/n in awkwardly which ruined the moment.

Warmness spread across Enid's cheeks and Wednesday felt her face go soft. Y/n just wanted to leave the awkward situation.

When they let go, Enid smiled and sighed. "Now, was that so hard to admit?"

Wednesday glared. "Yes."

[Time skip]

After a walk in the courtyard, Wednesday left Y/n and Enid to check in the post office of Nevermore for her answers.

...

Opening up the creaking mail box, Thing crawled into the crevice and retrieved the yellow envelope. The material felt like sandpaper under Wednesday's deadcold fingers.

Slipping white parchment out of the envelope, she pulled out a plastic bag.

She unzipped the bag, and as the plastic stretched she flipped the damaged paper that had once been covered in blood over.

There, in messy cursive, was. Dear Laurel, -------
