[Wednesday POV]

Enid seemed to be worried about her new friend Y/n.

Wednesday didn't see the problem, except that maybe Y/n hadn't arrived to dine at lunch on time, but Wednesday rarely wanted to eat anyways. So why should she shame them for not accompanying Enid and her to eat? That would be preposterous.

Though to be honest, the young human who had frequented Wednesday's presence every so often had been acting strangely. Wednesday's keen ears had overheard suspicious murmurs of 'voices in the walls' and 'strangers'. But if the empath insisted on keeping secrets, so be it. Wednesday still was trying not to linger on seeing Tyler again.

She had seen him, she didn't care if Enid was brushing her off. Where he had went, or why he was bordering around the very location that had gotten him caught, well Wednesday didn't have a notion. But she would find out.

Listening to Enid's aimless complaints and worries vaguely, Wednesday scanned the courtyard. She caught sight of Bianca, who looked to be in a heated argument with a certain hooded vampire.

The dark-skinned siren and the ghastly sun-glassed vampire were hissing impatiently at one another. Wednesday tried to catch ear of what the argument was about, but no such luck. The two females stalked off, the vampire's hands twitching slightly as they shadowed into the building's corridors.

Putting a hand up to silence Enid, Wednesday stood up, because in the blood-sucker's twitching palm was a familiar silver glinting item.

[Tyler POV]

The chesnut-haired boy thudded to the cold cement of the catacombs. He winced, and let out a small groan.

The small person sprawled 2 feet away from him looked dazed and a bit fearful. He glanced over at them, rising up weakly on his sprained limbs. His legs had landed awkwardly crossed.

When their eyes met his they flinched up, slamming their palms on the concrete, to keep themselves arised.

They spoke in tiny sprawls of breath. "WHERE- are- we?!" They finally were standing upright, and glaring down at the boy who they had followed here. They looked back at the entrance where they had foolishly been thrown into, but the wall was bare, no sign of an exit.

Tyler raised an eyebrow at that, furrowing them deeply in confusion. In contrast to Y/n, who looked ready to either punch someone or pass out from hyperventilating.

Y/n flipped on Tyler, who was still sitting a bit nonchalantly on the cool floor. They grabbed him roughly by his loaner shirt collar and he was met with nothing else to look at but e/c irises.

"Who the hell are you? And what is this place?! Are we even still in the school?!"

Tyler blinked, and gave a loose shrug, his confidence wavering a bit as he saw the terror on their face shift to pure fury. "Uhm- these are underneath the school I think, I've only just gotten to exploring them. But- I'm Tyle-"

They shoved him away. "I don't care about your name. Who are you? And what do you want with me?" They suddenly got a crazed look. They grabbed him again, which was a bit irritating. "Do you know about my mum???!!"

Tyler retracted from their grasp, and held up his hands. "Look, you may wanna stop grabbing me, and also I don't even know you, or your mom. I'm not here to cause trouble, I just-"

The person who was starting to get on his nerves interrupted him. "You just what?! So you trap me underground below the school, and I'm just supposed to believe you have good intentions?!"

Tyler couldn't contain an eyeroll, standing up, and threw his hands in the air. "You followed me!"

They pointed an accusatory finger. "You were suspicious!!"

Tyler raised his eyebrows and pursed his mouth. "How??!!"

"You walked away after I asked why you were so scared, and didn't even answer my question!"

Tyler moistened his lips. "It was a stupid question," He murmured.

Y/n glared. "It was a valid question! Now, tell me what you're doing here!" They started patting themself down for something but couldn't find it, so they looked at Tyler in exasperation, as if it was his fault. "-Or else."

Tyler had the urge to retort, or else what? But he guaranteed that wouldn't make him look good. So instead, he gritted his teeth and replied, "I just want to go to school."

The frail humanoid faltered, and then scoffed. "You expect me to believe that?" Their eyes narrowed.

Tyler shrugged the best he could muster. "It's the truth." He hoped it was believable, cause it was only half the truth. He knew they could sense emotions, so he willed himself to radiate honesty.

They scanned him for a few minutes, and his heartbeat quickened a bit, but after a few beats they didn't seem convinced, but they also didn't attack him with accusations, so he took that as a good sign.

He continued. "You see, I'm an outcast. But I'm not exactly welcome here."

Y/n raised an eyebrow. "...why?"

He folded his hands. "Well I'm a hyde."

He was surprised that he had told them that, but he couldn't exactly lie, so he played for sympathy, because no matter what, he had to get that diary.

Y/n seemed to be racking their brain, but came up blank. "What is that?"

Tyler shrugged. "A monster. I don't exactly know myself." That was a bit true.

They pointed a finger at him again. "Okay sir, so if you do wanna go to school, why so scared? It's not like anyone will know, I honestly thought you were a normie."

Tyler chuckled. "Ah yes, but you see, the whole monster transformation thing is kinda out of my control," He flipped his shoulders. "Plus, I have a few people who don't really like me here."

Y/n narrowed their e/c eyes. "Like who?"

Tyler waved off the question, in case they did know them. "You wouldn't know them," He stepped a bit closer. "But I can't exactly go around with this face, now can I?" He gestured to his bruised face.

Y/n bit their lip. "Well no," But they flashed their eyes at him. "But how do I even know I can trust you?"

Tyler sighed. He waved a palm. "Isn't their some way you can know if I'm lying?"

Tyler knew they could already sense his emotions, but if they could tell if he was lying just off the bat, then he definitely didn't want them as an enemy. Y/n pursed their lips, and stepped nearer to him. "Well," They grabbed his hand, and before he could protest, he was thrown into a memory.
