BEAUTIFUL CREATURE WHAT’S YOUR NAME?
Pamela walked down the dark passage, the chains on her legs, rattling at each step she took. The loud banging sound also not stopping. Her hand tightened on the bucket’s handle, while sweat dripped down her grubby face along the bug soap.
The loud banging sound got louder, when she moved forward. She stopped, her eyes running on the steel series of doors with huge chain locks. She swallowed her saliva, hardly.
She slowly walked toward the first door, her grip on her bucket’s handle tightening, lifting it to pour the terrible smelling food, in the food port on each of the six doors, located on each side.
She then, moved her bucket away from the last food port, heading for the seventh door which was located before her. A loud banging sound, that had been filling her ears before she entered the dark passage, coming from it.
She slowly moved toward the door and the banging sound immediately stopped. She stood before the door. She sensed the presence of whatever creature laid behind the chained steel door with more locks then the other doors. Her heart started pounding.
The memory of the conversation she was in with the Apex, wearing a greasy apron, a few minutes ago coming to her mind.
“SEVENTH CHAMBER NO GO, EVER,” it had growled. “CLEAR?”
She had nodded dumbly. “Uhm,”
“GO,”
She carefully placed the bucket on the floor and slowly moved her hand toward the rectangular lock space, where a prisoner or inmate was checked from. She felt her heart pound, a huff which sounded like a furious horse, filled her ears.
Her trembling hand held the rectangular space lock, slowly sliding it to the left. She then placed her eyes on the space, peeping through the lock space. No sight of the creature living in the terrible smelling room came to her view, just only the dead decaying Apex bodies scattered around was the only thing she could see.
The sound of flapping wings filled Pamela’s ears as a loud bang went on the door. She rapidly jerked back falling on her buttocks, pushing herself backwards, with her feet which let out the loud rattling sound.
Long claws violently tried digging through the space. Pamela pushed herself even more backwards, her forehead wrinkled, while whimpering. The claws suddenly disappeared from the lock space.
Anticipation and suspense filled in Pamela, slowly moving her upper body forward. She slowly started crawling forward, swallowing her saliva. Before she could get to the door, a golden eye appeared on the lock space, burning hate and vengeance.
A memory of the few men two years ago running after both her and Paul when they had escaped from the Grace orphanage, how her brother’s eyes had looked when Thomas had asked him to hand her over resurfacing.
A tear slid down her left eye. The footsteps of the Apex filled her ears as the golden eyes disappeared from the lock space. She rapidly got on her feet, running to the steel door, shutting the space. She then picked the bucket and ran up the dark passage, her heart pounding out her chest.
All the six creatures started banging on their doors as she ran past them, tears rolling down her cheeks. She bumped on the Apex wearing a greasy apron. She fell on her buttocks, the bucket got tossed away.
She groaned terribly, forcing herself up, picking the metal bucket. “Stupid children,” the Apex growled, staring at her and turned back heading out the now wide-open door before it leading back to the kitchen. She followed the Apex from behind holding her forehead.
“Close the door,” the Apex growled.
She nodded, closing the door behind her, not forgetting what she had seen in the seventh door. The Apex with an apron pulled out a stuck of keys from its apron pocket. “Move children,” it growled.
Pamela moved out the way, her eyes on the keys. It locked the door, before heading toward the oven. It hung the keys on the hook just above the oven then turned to face Pamela who was rubbing her forehead.
