ADULT MAKE A CHOICE

William covered Paul, Hector, Charles and Ann who were laying on the bed with a blanket then moved towards Barbara who was sitting near the fireplace near fast asleep Jack, rocking the baby in her hands.

"They are all asleep," taking a sit near Barbara, who had her eyes on the flames before her. He moved his hands onto the baby, moving the blanket off its face. "Little Paul gave me a map, a map that will take the children to Paradise."

The sight of the pale sleeping baby with black circles around the eyes came to his view.

"He wants to leave?" Barbara asked.

William took a deep breathe moving his fingers away from the baby. "Barbara,"

"He will not make it unless we he..."

"That's too dangerous, we cannot afford to lose the other children," William said. "They will all be eaten."

She stopped rocking the baby and turned to face William. "The little one can stop..."

"No Barbara, we are not using little Naska on this," William argued.

Barbara eyes widened. "We can't afford that twisted, evil, Dark Sorcerer to have such abilities, not Naska's ones at least."

Barbara turned away from William putting the baby inside the basket. "I know, it's just that I know how it's like being left behind, how to grow up in a world where you are hunted, tortured and all your siblings gone, gone to a better world which you couldn't go to."

"Barbara," holding her hand.

She turned to face him, tears in her eyes. "I don't want anyone to ever feel that pain, not ever, Will,"

"I know Barbara, I know," embracing her. "I will find a way, a safer way to help little Paul get his sister."

"I think you should go with the other children and I go with him to the Mountain of Bones,"

William's eyes widened. "It is safer that way,"

"No," William's voice sounded cold.

Barbara moved from William's shoulder. "It's better I go,"

"I am stronger than you are Will, I got more chances of making it out than you do," Barbara reasoned.

'But Barbara..."

"I cannot read maps but you can. You are the perfect person to go with the children and I help Paul get little sister," Barbara said holding William's hand. "No children..."

"Left behind," William completed the phrase.

"Yes, let's not leave these ones," Barbara said. "Please."

A deep sigh left William's lips. "Fine but promise me I'll not lose you," William sounded desperate.

"I'm always with you," moved her hand onto William's chest "Right here."

She moved her cold lips onto William's warm lips as they gently explored one another, deep warm breathes from William's nose brushed Barbara's skin.

William slowly moved his hand inside her oversize sweater, holding her waist, then gently broke loose from the kiss as they embraced each other. "I have to get more moose, since two broke loose," William said softly, trying to get his breathing pace in order.

"Where are we going to get those?" Barbara asked.

"I'll look around there might be a place where they sell moose,"

Barbara moved from William's arms. "I shall come with you,"

"No, I'll go alone," planting a kiss on her forehead. He then got on his feet, pulling his coat from the wooden chair.

"Be careful," she said, worry in her face.

"Don't worry I will be fine," wearing his coat then pulled the shot gun from near the chair shoving it inside it. "Lock the door."

Barbara got up following William out. "I'll be back soon,"

"Here," pulling out a dagger from her sweater, handing it to William. "I think you'll need it."

A sigh escaped William's lips as he took it. "Lock the door."
