THREE DAYS LATER
TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH
Paul tossed the clothe inside his bucket and lifted his head up, staring at the few Apexes in aprons sorting out the tables, and chairs. His hand reached inside his pants pocket. The cold steel rod, he had been using for two years, to count, their escape came in contact with his skin.
This was the day. “To night surely will be a night I shall not forget,” the Midget said from behind Paul.
It moved towards him and stood beside him. His hand quickly slid out his pants pocket, his tired eyes shifting onto the Midget. He noticed that Diyata the bird was sitting on its shoulder, while the Midget fed Diyata human intestine. “A night where I do not hunt for my meal but it comes to me.”
Paul’s eyes widened, looking away, not daring to look at the disgusting creature beside him in the eye. “You are going to kill him?” his voice sounding shaky and hoarse.
“Eat, after signing land to me,” It corrected him, sneezing. A few mucus flew out it nose, on the air onto the clean floor that he had scrubbed. Its gruffly hand then wiped its nose.
The memory of the Midget asking him to write him a contract stating that the Midget was to take the land of Robert Avecon and also the second one stating that Robert Avecon was to take the Midget’s land.
“They won’t give their land that easily,” Paul stated. “They will read the agreement letter, and see that you wish to trick them.”
A terrible short laughter escaped the Midget’s mouth, which smelled of rotten flesh and blood. “I may be a creature but I’ve lived with men, men like Robert, too undermining and arrogant,”
Paul turned his face to face the disgusting creature, which walked past him. The sight of the shiny flute peeping out its dark coat, as it walked toward the Apexes catching his attention. His hand clutched close.

Pamela scrubbed the floors while she glanced now and again at the few Apexes, taking the few trays from the table. The familiar Apex she has been spending her two revolution years with walked inside, giving orders to the other Apexes. Her eyes stayed on it.
After giving out orders the familiar Apex took the few cabbage peels and headed for a nearby steel lid on the wall, which Pamela knew as the garbage dispose. It opened it and tossed the cabbage peel inside, then walked toward the oven.
Its huge hand pulled out the stack of keys from its apron pocket, hanging it on the hook above the oven, like always. It then turned back to her as she quickly looked away scrubbing the floor. It walked on her clean floors, leaving muddy foot prints as it growled, “Clean up,”
Her button nose wrinkled as a snarl left her tightly pressed lips still scrubbing the floor.

His eyes suddenly caught the sight of an Apex in a coat, that had just walked inside. It walked over to the Midget and growled loud enough for Paul to hear. “Men here,”
“Take children to dungeon,” the Midget ordered.
The Apex nodded and walked toward Paul. Paul immediately recognized the Apex as the same Apex that regularly took him out his room and also led him back. It stood before him and growled, “Sleep time,”
