A Date For Val

Chapter 7

I made my way through the crowd that had gathered in front of the counter, some were seated while some were making orders. It's evening and our evening rush hours have started, Liam was in the front desk handling the cash register and taking orders while Liv served and handed out orders

Liam usually lends us a helping hand each time we needed one. I greeted him with a small thank you smile, I greeted Liv and quickly wore my apron.

I prepared the orders while she handed them out. With Liam taking the menu, me preparing it and Liv handing them out we were able to manage and dismiss the crowd soon enough

"How did your date go", Liv asked while we cleaned up

"Horrible", I spat

"Why? He is such a handsome dude, you know", she said

"And such a pervert too", i hissed. "How did you even select him" I rolled my eyes

"Was it that bad", Liam asked rinsing his hands

"He literally offered to get laid for money, he is a male whore", i curse. "Plus he has two kids, from two different women. I don't want no baby mama drama even if it's for a day", I hang my apron 

"But it's just for a day", she points out. "Did you really have to go with a date guide"

"I don't care, there is no way am taking a Pervy home for my family's love feast. And yes my date guide is very necessary.

I turned off the lights and we all headed out, i and Liv locked the doors while Liam gets his car from across the street. Liv took the front seat while I got comfortable at the back

"Care for some take out girls", Liam asked

"Yes please", we both chorused which made him chuckle

We drove into Surest Diner, Liam found a parking space to pull over

"Babe", he turned to Liv. "Would you please watch the car while i and Ava grab dinner", he placed his hands on her lap

"Alright",  she smiled

I wonder why Liam would want to get dinner with me and not Liv but i don't let mind dwell on that

"I would like some grilled chicken and fries please", she said as we got out of the car.

We got out of the car and walked into diner, there was a small line before it was our turn.

"Umm Ava, I want to speak to you about something", he started

"What's wrong Liam", he seemed nervous

"I want this to be a secret between us", he scratched the back of his neck

"Okay", i raised an eyebrow

"I was thinking, well I think", he stuttered

"Calm down Liam", i squeezed his hands

"I want to propose to Liv on Valentine's Day and I need your help", he said in one breath

"Oh wow, that's big news", I nudge him. "Of course I will definitely help you out", I grin

"Please keep it a secret", he pleaded

"Sure", no wonder he asked Liv to wait in the car, now it makes sense

I am so happy for Liv, just because my relationship life sucks doesn't mean I wouldn't be happy for my best friend.

It was finally our turn, we got our food to go and we both leave the diner.
