A Date For Val

Chapter 6

I looked at my watch for the tenth time in thirty minutes, despite sitting in a room full of air conditioners  I could still feel my psalm and feet sweating. My stomach was doing flips....I felt all shades of nervousness

After being single for....let me think, MY WHOLE LIFE. Here I am on a date, I don't know how Liv convinced me to do this. She couldn't think up of a more better way to find me a Val than setting me up on a blind date

I checked my watch again and it was 1:20pm and the date is suppose to be at 1:30pm, it's past our rush hours at the bakery so Liv can handle the bakery on her own . Ten more minutes till my date arrives, I opened my purse and brought out my date guide...yes I know it's absurd but I felt the need to, if you have been single your whole life you will also do the same.

My date guide contained things which I was going to look out for
First impression
Looks
Occupation
And other things ...

I looked up from my date guide and I noticed a young man approaching me, I guess that's my first date. I adjusted in my seat and tried to mentally prepare myself before he reached the table.

"Good day, are you Ava Jones?", he asked

He was dressed in a black jeans, black T- shirt and a white jeans jacket. Curly hair, pink lips, light skinned,tall,a few piercings here and there

Looks: not really my spec but cute

"Yes I am Ava Jones", I snapped myself out of my thoughts. "Am guessing you are Jamal". Liv had sent me his details earlier, and when I say details I mean his name and picture

"Yes", he smirked

"Have a seat", i gestured him to seat.

I waved over to the waiter who brought the menu for us. We made our orders

"Umm", I said nervously. " Tell me about yourself", I said

"You know my name already, I am an artist. I am 27 years old", he ran his tongue over his lips, something I noticed he has done quite a couple of times in the few minutes since he has been here

"Are you single", i asked curiously

"Yes, I am single but I have two daughters from two different women",he said nonchalantly

"Two children from different mothers?", i questioned with shock

This is definitely a deal breaker

"Yes, I mean who wouldn't want to have me", he smirked

The waiter interrupted with our drinks, I immediately took a long sip. He also sipped on his drink

"So am guessing you need a date for Val", he rests both his elbow on the table

"Umm yes, I need a date to take home for a family love feast", i explain

"What services do I offer you", he had a weird smile

"What services do you offer", i asked confusedly

"I could follow you to your family for a love feast and I could follow you to your bed", he winked at me with a smirk. "Depends on how much you are offering", he licked his lips again

Fucking pervert

"I am sorry you have the wrong lady", I downed my remaining drink and stormed out
