A Date For Val

Chapter 18

"Everyone Ava is here", she announced

I could hear their voices from the living room.

"Ava", Marion bounced on me. "You are here", a huge grin plastered on her face

Marion is my little cousin

"Hello everyone", I yelled entering the living room

Daniel and Nicholas were chatting over some drinks, I gave both of them a high five

Prince and Micheal were both playing video games and yelling their heads off, to think they were adults. I rolled my eyes smacking them both in the head

They both winced putting down the controls long enough to fist bumb me and they were back at it again

I could here Nicole's voice from the kitchen calling out to me while Michelle was setting the table with a young man who am guessing is her fiancé . I hugged Michelle and congratulated her on her engagement, I congratulated him too after she gave us a quick introduction

I rushed to the kitchen to hug Nicole who was busy with the cooking, she pressed a kiss on my cheek. Nicole has to be my favorite cousin

"Come here everyone", I hear my mum call out. "Ava has a special guest", oh damn, I forgot about Nathan

"Ouuuu", Nicole cooed with a sheepish grin. She quickly washed her hands and followed me to the living room

Everyone's attention was now on Nathan who was standing next to my mum

"Won't you introduce him to us", Diana said descending from the stairs

"Come on Ava", my mum nodded

"Everyone meet Nathan", I walked towards him. I introduced him quickly to my large family

"Is that Ava's boyfriend", George interrupted from behind

I quickly glanced at Nathan to see his reaction, he seemed really composed, a smile on his face all the while

"Umm, can we eat already", I changed the topic

"Yes , am starving", Marion added

"Okay, ladies hop into the kitchen and start getting the table and food ready. Boys you will need to get more chairs from the attic ", my mum ordered us

In seconds everyone was up and doing and in no time at all the table was ready with food displayed on it, extra chairs put in place and we all settled down

After a short prayer by Dan, we started dishing out varieties

"Nathan, you are here with Ava so are you both a couple", prince asked wiping some sauce from his mouth

He looked at me and nodded before answering

"We rather not put a name on our relationship yet, we are taking it one step at a time"he answered calmly

Good one Nathan, I truly didn't know how to answer that

"How did you guys meet", Nicholas added with a grin

"At the bakery", he answered before I could speak. "I went to the bakery to get pie and I saw her, I got interested and things hit off from there"

It felt like he practiced it, he wasn't lying tho.  That is how we met but we rather keep the rest of the story to ourselves.
