A Date For Val

Chapter 9

"No way!", Liv exclaimed. "Who brings their PA on a date"

"Who even works on a date", I put in the pop corn in the microwave setting the timer

"This is so unbelievable, what generation does he belong to", she gets the drinks from the fridge

"I truly have no idea where you get this people from Liv, do you even tell them why they are on the date", the timer goes off and I remove the popcorn from the microwave

"I really want to get you a person who would not just stay for Val but a person who you can build a relationship with", she rinsed two cups and pours our drinks

"Well am not looking to be married or legalized any time soon"

We both head out of the kitchen with our snacks, Liv came over for the weekend so we could binge watch our favorite reality show all night

"I am going to get our blankets", she goes in

The phone dinged as a message notification popped up. The notification banner read Liam's name, I opened the message

Liam:
Hey Ava, sorry this is coming late but could we meet up at DD jewelers at 8am tomorrow. I need help picking out a ring

Me:
Sure, I would see you tomorrow by 8

Liv walked back in while I replied Liam's message, I quickly sent the reply and dropped my phone. We quickly got indulged in our show, we forgot about the date

It is really difficult to lie to Liv, especially when she knows me inside out. I had to look for a really good excuse to leave the house without her having any suspicion.

I got DD jewelers a few minutes past 8, Liam was already there waiting for me.

"Sorry am late, I had to make up a valid excuse for Liv"

"I understand", he smiled. "I forgot to tell you to bring a ring we could use to make sure it's her seize", he smacks his forehead

"Don't you worry, i gat you", I looked into my bag and brought out one of Liv's random ring which was laying on the table

I would have used my finger to test the ring as there would have been no difference but this needs to fit perfectly so I figured I would bring one of her rings along

"You are the best Ava Jones", he nudged me

"Yes I am", I chuckled.

We went round the store looking for the perfect ring, I know how much this would mean to Liv so it had to be the best. After looking at a few we decided on a silver ring with a diamond at the top, Liv has always wanted a silver ring. It was so pretty

"Do you think she would like it", he asked nervously

"Am sure she would", I gave him a comforting smile

He paid for the ring and it was packed for us to go. I bid Liam farewell promising to keep my mouth shut
