'And now, my dear... if you'll excuse me, I have a lot to prepare...' He looked to the animatronic woman who seemed polite enough. 'We'll talk later, I promise-'
'No.' You said simply, looking him dead in the eye. The woman fidgeted nervously. Wilson stopped and looked at you. 'What do you mean, "no"?' You stared right back at him, no emotion daring cross your face. 'I am not going to talk with you later. We will talk now.' Now Wilson looked a bit nervous. 'But I have to get some things-'
'If you want me to reason with you, we will talk now.' Wilson grumbled and placed his hands on your shoulders roughly, and any kind of power you had dissipated. 'Let go of me.' You said sternly, but a shake could be heard in your voice.
'We will talk later.' He bored his stare hard into you, with his fingernails scratching into your flesh. The animatronic woman stared silently, obviously uncomfortable. 'I won't listen later,' you say as tears sprung into your eyes. 'I won't listen unless I have Bendy! And I mean that.' He let go of your with a sigh and looked at the woman, not wanting to do so. 'I you wish, I will release him from... his examinations early. You will see him at the end of th-'
'I will see him now, and that is without discussion.' You voice was stern and cold, and he grunted at your harshness. 'Very well...' he said quietly as he went back down to the Pit, seeming to go retrieve him. 'But you will stay here, Betty will show you to your room. A quick rest will do wonders on your attitude.' At the word he hissed in resentment as he walked away. When he was out of hearing-shot, the woman sighed with relief.
'Oh my, the air was thicker than fudge in here! I heard he brought you here from a worse-for-wear world, so I honestly thought you would be thrilled! But I see, emotions work in wonderous ways.' You couldn't tell is she was talking to you or herself.
You looked beyond her to the painting she was standing in front of. 'He...' was all you could say as the painting baffled you. It showed the old hag wielding a sword and "slaying" the Ink Demon. 'He never killed the Ink Demon.' You looked to Betty, and she nodded sadly. 'No, he's too powerful for any of us to destroy...' She said this with a sound of upset, which hurt you a little.
'The Ink Demon is bad, but you do know about Bendy, right?' She thought for a moment and looked back to you. 'Do you mean the small and more fragile state the Keeper's transferred him into? His prison, as they say...' You nodded. She smiled sadly. 'Every now and then, I would be escorting Wilson to the containment room, and I saw how afraid the small thing was... even if he was a monster rooting for our flesh and Wilson said, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for the creature.'
She clearly had sympathy, so she wasn't a robot. But she didn't look to be human, either... 'It wasn't exactly fair as I saw it, harming a harmless creature who couldn't fight back. But I kept my mouth shut. My words wouldn't matter for the future of this small overlord you call "Bendy".'
'However, he seemed to have found a way to free himself. That is how he escaped.' She turned to look at the painting with sad eyes. 'He could do so much harm in one form, but so little in another... it's baffling!' She shook her head, ridding herself of the thoughts. She turned away from the painting and stared at you. 'Enough talk, there's some nice fresh blankets all laid out for you, you'll be dreaming in no time!'
You smile awkwardly, feeling a strange sense of home here, but you didn't want to stay. 'Thank you, Betty... but I have a question.' You look to where Wilson had run off to. 'This may be more of a question for Wilson, but... if he needed my help so bad, why couldn't he have just asked? Being me, I wouldn't happily obliged to help his father...' Betty shook her head and looked away. 'If I told you that there was a world purely made of sketches and haunted dreams, and that you needed to come with me so you could... help... would you believe me?'
She didn't wait for you to respond. She walked forward to the South Wing entrance, daintily and lady-like. 'Come along! And no more dawdling. This way now!' Her voice was very soothing to your head, and you automatically did as she said, trailing behind quietly. She turned the doorknob and pushed it open, gesturing for you to go first. You remembered when Bendy did that for you back at the Hotel, and you felt an overwhelming sense of upset that he was gone. He'll be back if Wilson wants anything from me.
'Ah, you're actually here now, at last!' Betty sighed happily as she went ahead of you to lead the way. 'It's so exciting to have you finally with us, we've waited for a long few days of your entrance into the studio. Wilson kept on telling me you'd pull through and find your way here, even if you dodged the search party... he was right yet again!' She giggled to herself before composing her emotions to be more professional.
'Now, to give you some bearings, we're currently in-' The door she had shut behind you opened suddenly, and you both turned to see what was happening. Two Keepers were holding the arms of your scrawny imp friend, who was obviously injured. He gave you a weak smile at seeing your face. 'Bendy!' you cried out as you dashed straight to him, enveloping his torso in a loving embrace. He winced at your intensity and the pain at his side, but slunk into the hug gratefully. The Keepers didn't let go of his arms.
'Release him, you spineless freaks!' you snarled at them, which they reluctantly obliged. You saw the deep rooting wounds on his body, which made tears streak down your face. 'What have these monsters done to you? I am so sorry, Bendy... I broke my promise...' He held the back of your head with his gloved hand and whistled quietly near your ear.
'The subject has been deemed for a temporary release, do not grow attached.' At that, the two guards left you to embrace your shivering friend tightly. He was incredibly warm, which wasn't good. Did he have a fever or something? Can you get fevers here? 'They won't hurt you so long as they need my help. If they even dare think about locking you away from me again, they'll severely regret it.' Bendy sighed and let his hand drop to your back as he hugged you tightly, not wanting to let go.
'If I may, your room is up ahead... "Bendy" can stay in your dorm if you'd wish.' Betty interrupted, but spoke softly as to respect the moment. 'Thank you.' You turn to look at her and give her a grateful smile. 'You're one of the kindest people I've met here...'
