Y/N could feel the dappled sunlight and shade on her skin as he sat beneath the trees. The air was full of birdsong and the rustling of leaves, the scents of nature and tiny critters in the undergrowth was fleshing out the open world before her eyes. The inaudible chatter of her mother Audrey was in the back of her mind, as if not really there...
'Y/N?' Her eyes lit up from her day-dreaming state as she looked to her mother's direction. She had concern in her eyes, gazing upon her daughter in a fit of worry. 'Are you okay? I took a day off of work for you... there was something you wanted to tell me.' Y/N's eyes narrowed as her body shrunk back slightly, remembering what she had come here to do. 'Darling, I understand that what you went through was traumatic, you can talk to me.' Audrey's arm reached to reassuringly pat Y/N's arm, but it drew back suddenly, remembering her arm wasn't there. Gone, waiting for a robotic replacement.
'Ah...' her mother flinched at her action, before recovering with a dazzling smile. 'Sweetie, I love you. I thought I lost you a month ago, and you have been a bit quiet with me lately...' A bird squawked nearby, and Y/N's attention faltered. Turning their heads, they found a small imp-like cartoon chasing around some native birds. He looked to be trying to hug them. 'Bendy!' Audrey hissed, and the cartoon halted at her command, child-like fear strung on his face.
He slowly made his way to the two girls, both who were sitting awkwardly on the picnic blanket laid out on the grass. No one was here, because everyone was busy on a Monday. Nobody had time to go to the park, so they decided to bring the young ink creature along to enjoy the sun. 'Bendy, I know that you rarely get to go out, but you must understand that no one can see you...' Audrey's motherly tone shone through, and Bendy hung his head as he plonked down onto the picnic blanket beside Y/N.
'Let him have his fun...' Y/N smiled, and Audrey sighed. Y/N only really smiled when it came to Bendy nowadays. 'Alright, but don't be too loud... or rough...' Bendy beamed at her words and ran off again, whistling his merry tune as he sped off. Audrey turned back to Y/N; a sympathetic smile plastered on her lips. 'Now, what is it you needed to tell me?' Y/N looked away immediately, for some reason afraid.
'I... it's about... Joey.' She couldn't find the words. Audrey cocked her head to the side in a questioning manner. 'What about Joey?' Another squawk of a bird behind. Saliva trickled down Y/N's throat, just like it had when she was in the Cycle so many times.
'...' She turned her head away in a worried haste, looking at how the light reflected off the autumn leaves. '... It's okay, honey. If you're not really yet, I understand. I'm here for you.' Y/N sighed at her mother's words.
I don't think Ill ever find the words to tell you about him, Ma... or about your... biology.
