'We have much to discuss, come over here.' Wilson gestured for you to follow him, and you reluctantly obliged as he took to a work bench. 'Are you sure you're ready? They will be no return where we're going.' You halted at gave him a suspicious glance. 'Uh, not until we accomplish our mission, that is...' He chuckled and patted you on the shoulder, but you slapped his hand away. 'Don't play games with me, Wilson. Tell me your plan straight or I'm walking.' You point to the lab entrance with your Gent Pipe.
'...Alright.' He replied with a forced smile. 'Thank you for coming all this way, after such a... rough meeting with me in the museum.' You glare at him. 'At least you can recognise how wrong it was for you to do that.' He shrugged. 'It was to show you your greater purpose, so you should be thanking me.' You falter at his words, and you had to restrain yourself before you punched him in the face. 'Thank you? For killing me?'
You let out a harsh exhale and your eyes widened in anger. A false smile spread across your face. 'What, you think it's okay to drown a child in a thick puddle of ink? To give her false hope? I thought you wanted my help, so I did as you said-' 'I did need your help.' He said simply. 'As I told you on the train, I need help to save my father, and to save this crumbling world.' You shook your head in disgust.
'Hear me out, Y/N. Let there be reason for me bringing you here...' you sighed heavily and look to the ground. 'Just spill it, bastard.' Wilson grumbled at your foul language but went on to explain. 'The Ink Demon is a formidable foe... To truly destroy such a monster, he must be dethroned.' You step back, furious. 'You said you wouldn't kill him-' he cut you off. 'Dethroned, Y/N, use your head! If he is dethroned, he has no purpose in this world, he was made to rule this world-'
'If he was made to rule this world and you take that away, what do you think will happen? Look at how fragile this place is?' At your thunderous words, the studio rumbled. Wilson glanced around him, surprised by the unsteadiness of this room. 'If you kill him, you kill this place.' Wilson shook his head, denying your claim. 'Ridiculous. When he is dethroned, I can easily shift another being onto the seat.'
You looked at him, confused. 'You're not making yourself rule?' He shook his head. 'I'm already the mastermind, I just want Joey Drew's mistake out of here, and my creation to rule. That's all that matters to me.' You cross your arms. 'And what does that have to do with "saving your father's life"?' He smiled and closed his eyes. 'Ah, my father was an ignorant man. He's long gone already... Nathan Arch, business tycoon... you've heard of him before. As his legacy moves on however, I stay forgotten.'
'How am I supposed to believe Nathan Arch is your father? You've already lied to me enough, so why should I waste my time believing your schtick?' Wilson sighed with an angry tone set inside. 'In the end it doesn't matter if you believe me.' He grabbed your arm forcefully and dragged you to a strange contraption. You tried to rip your arm from his grasp, but he already had let go of you to show you the machine.
It was a pillar of some sort, with a sliding door to fit. 'For months now, I have been working on my creation, something strong enough to overthrow the disgusting wretch... and I believe I have made something that can do just that. Powerful... strong... controllable. I just need you to unleash this ultimate weapon upon this world.' The sliding door opened to reveal a coloured sketch of a sailor man. It was depicted as a young boy with the name "Shipahoy Dudley" written at the bottom. Nothing about his character design made him recognisable, compared to the many sailor cartoons out there.
That must be why Bendy's character design stuck into the minds of so many kids in his generation. No one at the time created a devilish super-star. "Dudley" wouldn't be able to make up for that. Still, Wilson stared at your face, waiting for a reaction. You couldn't flat out tell him it wouldn't work; you didn't know what he would do to you then. He wouldn't need you, and your plan wouldn't work. 'It... it could work...' you muster, hating to lie.
'He's simple, but elegant... a treasure to look upon. My father disagreed with the idea, foolish man... but I see you have taste. The Ink Demon will fall against his reign... and he will bring us peace at last.' Wilson stepped closer to you, making you step back, closer to the artwork. 'It could work, you say again, but raise your finger as you turn back to Wilson. 'But it sounds risky. How would we control him exactly? We wouldn't want to make the same mistake as Joey.'
He raised his hand and stroked his chin as he thought about your words. 'No... no we don't. That's why all the factors must be perfect...' He gestured to the painting again, so you turn back to it. The idea felt worse the more you stared. 'The right design of a full-fledged model...' The sliding door stayed open, but the floor of the contraption shifted around and moved like a turntable. 'The right science...' It revealed a wall with many strange slots.
'The right soul...' rounded sawblades shot out of the slots, making you step back in surprise. They started to whir and blur together at the speed they were going, which made you slightly dizzy. 'What?' you mumbled, your eyes wide as you stared, transfixed on the machinery. Wilson placed a hand on your shoulder. 'At last, your purpose will be realised, Y/N! This is why I brought you here... With your child-like and loveable soul, my creation will live on after me... live on after my descendants... you will be my legacy.'
You turn and push him away, facing your back to the sawblades. 'You're insane! Do you really think I would agree to this plan? You're a fucking madman!' You snarled and Wilson only smiled in return. 'It's rational for you to be acting this way, but you will understand soon enough. You had no greater purpose in life, so this opportunity... one day you'll thank me.'
'Thank you? Get your shit together.' You poked his chest in disgust. 'I am done. Your little scheme? I want nothing to do with it.' He continued to block your way. 'I'm afraid you don't have much choice.' He pushed you backward, and your left hand hit against a saw blade. Agony shot through your arm, and the adrenaline kicked in. Before you could fall, you grabbed onto Wilson's janitor uniform and dragged him beside you, bringing him down face-first.
Ink gushed from his sliced head into your eyes, but you quickly used his body as a leverage to get out of the contraption before your fate was sealed. His body jolted as he cried in pain and you looked away, traumatised by the gory display showing in front of you. The churning and crunching of bones in the gears, and the sloshing and ripping of flesh in the chamber resided, and you slowly opened your eyes.
Finally, the adrenaline weared off. Then the pain of your arm took over. You looked down and saw the deep gashes and cuts in your arm. Flesh was peeled away to reveal your ink-stained bone. You couldn't hold it in anymore. Seeing such a disgusting sight, you doubled over and vomited on the floor, it mixing with Wilson's intestines and blood-substitute.
'Oh god...' you whimpered, holding your arm is shock. Slowly, the dense ink that stuck to your left hand moved and expanded, going over the wound. It throbbed and hurt like hell, you screamed and fell to your knees as you held it. The ink entwined itself around the exposed arm bone, and your flesh peeled away onto the floor. It was horrid to watch, but you couldn't help but stare. The ink was driving away your flesh and muscles, replacing them in an act of survival.
Your fate is sealed, for we have come to claim what is left of you.
The voices of the Dark Puddles mellowed and stuck out in random places, flowing around in your mind. Shut up, shut up, shut up...
Your pleading will do you no good...
You clenched your left hand and grimaced, refusing to allow your body to succumb. No. The ink completed its journey and had gotten rid of all the skin on your forearm. Everything else stayed the same, but there was an inky bone for an arm there. The pain slowly receded. If I completely damage something beyond repair, will that happen again? I just have to keep this at bay...
