"Hello?" A small childlike voice called out.
I was lying on some sort of floor, it was very chilly. My vision was sort of blurry and I could only make out colorful lights. Was I in the pizzeria? I slowly felt control over my body and stood up. I found a flashlight next to me grabbed it. I looked around my surrounding area. I was by the main stage with all the animatronics.
"Hello?" I called back.
I started walking around the pizzeria looking for whatever was calling out. I felt the chilly air hit my skin. Something felt off. I made my way to the security office I was familiar with. I turned around and was met with a tall shadowy figure. I backed away as it swung towards me.
I quickly jolted up, realizing it was all a dream. I looked over to my alarm clock on my nightstand, reading 1:35pm. I got up, and went immediately to the kitchen to make myself coffee.
I wasn't really too much of a coffee drinker, but I was now contemplating it, considering I almost fell asleep last night during the shift. As I waited for my coffee to brew, my mind starting racing about what had happened last night. Part of me was still in shock about everything.
I could've died yesterday, if Michael weren't there. The thought of that sent shivers up my spine. But why did they move around at night? That still doesn't make sense to me. I also think Michael knows a lot more than he's leading on.
I took a deep breath as I poured myself a cup of coffee. I got lost in my thoughts, until a knock on the door broke my train of thought. I opened the door to reveal a smiling Jessica.
"What's up superstar?"
I rolled my eyes playfully. "You don't wanna know"
"What happened?" She asked, walking into my apartment. "Oh, you know, I almost died last night" I replied, flopping onto my couch.
"Are you serious?" She gasped, sitting next to me. I nodded slowly, as I rubbed my eyes.
"And I'm going back tonight" I sighed.
"No, no you're not!" She yelled, pleading me not to go. "I have to! I couldn't leave my co worker by himself!" I cried, falling back on the armrest of the couch dramatically.
"How did you almost die?" She asked, seriously concerned.
"Those animatronics... They walk around at night looking for predators basically... I don't understand, but they try to kill you!" I yell, sounding insane.
"And they just... allow that?" She gasped. "Yeah, I'm basically working in a death trap, it's unbelievable"
"It's not selfish for you to wanna quit though, he should hopefully understand that!" She exclaimed.
"I know..." I sighed, knowing she was completely right. I wanted answers though, and I knew Mike had them.
"Are you sure you wanna keep doing this?" She asked. I held my head in my hands, knowing this wasn't an ideal situation. "Is it worth the risk?"
"No, but I can't leave Mike there by himself. He's a nice guy" I pleaded, knowing that wasn't a good excuse, but it was honestly true. If something happened to him because I left, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
She stood up, looking down on me. She took a deep breath before speaking again.
"Look I trust you'll make the right decision, whatever you decide to do"
I grabbed her hands, affirming that I would be okay. She looked at me worried.
"I'll be okay, I promise"
With that, she left to go clean her apartment. I looked up my ceiling, knowing that what I was doing was stupid. Something in me just didn't want to quit. I wanted to know what happened. And I sure as hell wouldn't leave Michael alone, not in that hellhole.
As I walked into Freddy's for my shift, I felt my nerves hit me again. I looked up to see Henry about to leave. He smiled at me and I waved.
"Hey kiddo, Mike's waiting for you" He spoke, as I walked in.
"Thanks, have a great night Henry" I smiled, as we waved goodbyes. I walked to the office, as I took a sip of my coffee. I needed to make sure I was energized enough so I didn't lose focus.
"Hey, what's up?" I smiled as I walked into the office, seeing Michael. He looked up me, his eyes beaming with happiness. I chuckled, seeing how happy he was.
"You're actually back" He smiled, pulling me into a hug. I hugged him back. "Yeah, I couldn't just leave you here by yourself. That wouldn't be right" I admitted, sitting and adjusting myself in the uncomfortable chair. I took a deep breath, knowing what I'm gonna say might make him upset.
"Mike... I need answers,"
"What?" He questioned, seeming confused. I looked into his eyes, letting him know I was serious about this. "I need answers on what you know about Freddy's, please"
"Okay" He sighed. "You're right, it's not fair that I'm holding out on you. It's just- It's a lot to take in"
I could tell this situation weighed heavy on him and I didn't want to rush him into telling me. "I understand that, and you don't have to tell me tonight, I would just like to know eventually"
"How about I tell you tomorrow before work? Let's go out for dinner before work, and I'll tell you anything you wanna know" He suggested.
"Sounds great" I smiled, taking a sip of coffee.
As the night dragged on, I felt myself getting into a rhythm. I didn't feel as tired, considering I was hopped up on coffee and five hour energies. I looked over at Michael, who continued to wind the music box, as well as check the other cameras.
"The old Chica is in the right vent" Michael warned, as he grabbed his Freddy mask. I grabbed mine, feeling myself tremble with fear. I had seen what the older animatronics looked like from the cameras, and they terrified me. They looked like something out of a horror movie.
Suddenly, I heard the animatronic crawling into the room. We both quickly put the masks on, as my hands started shaking. I wanted to scream and cry, but I needed to stay calm. I looked away, hoping that it wouldn't notice my uneasiness. Although, I didn't know if it could detect emotions, but I didn't wanna risk it.
I took a deep breath as the animatronic had left. I don't think I would ever truly get used to this. I took the mask off, setting it on the desk and grabbing the flashlight.
I slid back into my chair, feeling the hours drag on and on. I looked at my watch, seeing there was only a few minutes left. Tonight wasn't too bad, but those older animatronics were especially terrifying. I wondered why Henry decided to keep the older models, considering they were destroyed and would probably scare the shit out of all the children.
My thoughts were then interrupted by the alarm chime. I put the flashlight in the desk drawer, and looked over at Mike who rubbed his eyes. He smiled faintly at me, and I smiled back.
"I'll see you tonight [y/n]"
