(In which Selina tries friendship.)
Today, Selina was on screen time arrest. Nathan had made a bet with her that if her phone screen time was below 5 hours (her weekly one is 127 hours) he would buy her the new skin set in League of Legends.
So Selina only tried doing her daily comissions on her games that required to do so, and that's it. She can't even listen to music as she was unsure if it will affect the challenge. Hence why she was frustrated on Monday.
Tuesday she tried sleeping it out. Wednesday she got jittery that she fiddled with her mechanical pencil. By lunch, she gave Nathan a glare that made him smirk. After lunch, she decided to read her history textbook on the lesson, surprising her history teacher.
"Ms. Choi, as you've been zoning out my teaching and actually reading the textbook for once, can you explain to me what happened during World War II?"
It is when she recites the whole chapter, word by word, event by event like a robot that the whole class gaped. Even a sleepy Zack Lee woke up from his slumber as he heard nonstop muttering from the girl sitting on his front diagonal right.
Even the history teacher was impressed and shocked.
"You managed to memorize all that? How?"
"...Just reading?" Selina answered as it was obvious, scratching her head. The history teacher gave a sigh at that and shook her head.
"If you just stop being lazy, read more, and do that everytime before tests, I think you can have way better grades than you have now." She commented, then went back to teaching. Selina rolled her eyes and went back to reading the history textbook because she was bored.
In 45 minutes, she had read until chapter 13 out of 20. Their class was in chapter 9 currently, with chapter 10 being the last chapter for the semester.
The next and last class of the day was maths. As the maths teacher came in and told the class they were going to learn algebra, making them groan and complain that they just want to go home.
Zack Lee was sighing and snuggled into his table more to sleep. Mira and Zoe slouched in their seats, wanting it to get over already. Meanwhile, the guy that sits on her left, Jay Hong, was studying diligently but he looked bored.
Selina continued reading through her textbooks while slouching.
"Ms. Choi!" The Maths teacher called her out suddenly, surprising her and some of her classmates. The teacher had a smirk on his face, proud to pick her everytime in his class. He knows she can't answer. Selina swears he is only picking on her.
"Answer this question!" The teacher banged the board with his ruler. Some of the students in class gulped and let out a breath, thankful it wasn't them being called to answer the question.
Selina felt rather confident, after reading the maths textbook throughought the lesson. She walked to the front of the class and answered the question as if it was easy. The teacher even gaped. The whole class were muttering.
"Was she always this smart?!"
"Holy shit,"
And the day finally ended with curious classmates. But before she could be bothered, she was gone.

Thursday, Mira Kim had approached her at lunch, asking if they could eat together, as Selina had arrived right when the lesson started because Nathan thought he needed morning coffee, making them arrive later than usual. Selina had contemplated for a while, thinking of rejecting her, but thought of the advice Nathan had given her to make friends. So Selina agreed, surprising Mira, and Zack who was about to ask Mira out to eat lunch together. Zack could be seen giving the spectacled girl the stinky eye while following behind them.
"So, what do you like to do, Selina?" Mira asked as they walked. Selina had her hands inside her blue oversized hoodie, hands twitching.
"Um, I... I like..." She stuttered, unsure. Will Mira call her a nerd for liking and playing games like them? Well, Nathan did say to take a chance, and from what she heard from her classmates, Mira was a nice person.
"I like... Playing games." Selina answered, taking the leap of faith.
"Cool! I am not really good at games, haha." Mira chuckled. Selina hummed.
"Maybe... I can teach you if you want..." Selina muttered shyly, blushing. She was not experienced with socializing with another girl, as she only interacted with Nathan all of those years.
Mira actually beamed at her suggestion, surprising Selina.
"That will be great!"
Meanwhile, behind them, Zack Lee was scowling as he saw Mira smiling to the black haired girl.
At the cafeteria, Selina saw Nathan as he tried approaching their table, only to notice Selina was with company. She had mouthed a 'help me' to him, while he only gave her a big grin, a thumbs up, and went to sit with his classmates.
Eventually Zack Lee had came and sat next to Mira, giving Selina a scowl. Selina raised her eyebrow in challenge back, and lighting sparks could be seen as the two glared at each other. Zack flinched as he saw her golden honey eyes glinting underneath her thick spectacles.
Selina grinned as she won the staring match. Her eyes was used to it as she needed to see everything in game. See, gaming really does have their perks. But with that comes dry eyes, and Selina wished she bought some eye drops...

Friday, Mira had caught up to her on the way to school and they walked together. Nathan had said he won't be able to pick her up so Selina had gone to school alone. Zack Lee was obviously unhappy as he took place on the right side of Mira.
"How was your night, Selina?" Mira had asked.
"I actually slept earlier than usual after exercising." Selina answered. "I made a bet with Nathan. I had to keep my screen time on my phone just for 5 hours. I know if I play on my PC I would lose the bet as I was itching to play."
"How long was the bet?"
"Um, a week. Today's the fifth day."
"So what will you do when the Weekend comes and you don't have anything to do?" Mira pointed out.
...She had a point.
"Fuck, I didn't think of it that far," Selina cursed herself as she started fidgeting.
Mira brushed off her cursing like it was nothing, "How about we go out this Saturday?"
Zack flinched at that. "B-But Mira, we're going out together this Saturday--"
"What? I can't invite Selina?" Mira frowned and turned to look at the latter. Zack glared at her.
Selina raised an eyebrow. Does she want to join Zack and Mira's date as a thirdwheel to cure her insanity of not gaming plus seeing him suffer?
"Hell yes!"
