iv. the girl singing in the rain

She knows Nathan is up to something.

And she's pretty sure she'll be performing on that festival later on.

He offered to pay for everything she wants from this festival.

He got her a haircut in the Hairdressing Department's festival booth. She declined going to Eli Jang's line no matter how packed it is, since she saw all of the results were... Bad. The haircut she got was pretty decent, the girl she got tidied her hair and made her bangs frame her face better. She even gave a light curl on the ends of her hair, and Selina was satisfied.

She left a big tip for the girl that left the girl surprised, before going to her class's booth. Zack Lee was earning money by boxing people for 5.000 won. Selina grinned as she got in line. When it was her turn, Zack was surprised she was the one who stepped in, not the guy next to her.

"Hold my jacket for me, please?" She smiled sweetly. "And my glasses."

"You'll ruin your hair." Nathan pointed out.

"It's not like I'm going to go on stage or anything, right?" Selina said flatly as she put on the given headgear. Nathan paid the 5.000 won fee for her.

"Don't forget, you're still wearing a skirt."

"Oi. What are you doing here?" Zack grumbled.

"I'm going to hit you within one minute and get that 10.000 won."

"Hah?! Dream on!" Zack cracked his neck.

"Start!"

Selina tested out a few simple, slow moves that Zack dodged easily. He even looked bored. Many more had come to the booth to see the fight and one of them were a group of two, a beautiful girl and a tall guy whose hair was slicked back. He was wearing sunglasses.

After 20 seconds she smirked. She turned serious and actually swung a few mean right hooks to the unsuspecting teen.

"What the--"

She jabbed a few fast ones then took advantage of Zack's Surprise and hit him on the jaw up. He bit his tongue with that hit.

"Ouch!"

The crowd screamed in surprise and awe.

"I won!" She said happily as she took off the boxing gloves and headgear. She then went to Jiho since he was the timekeeper.

"My time?" She asked with a smile. Nathan gave her her glasses and jacket.

"I-I, uh, 32... 32seconds?!" Jiho's eyes widened.

"New record! But I could do much faster, honestly." Selina shrugged.

"My 10.000 won, please." Nathan dryly asked to Jiho, feeling annoyed that she was boasting, but happy that he got his money back. Jiho shyly gave the money and Selina took it happily, fanning it in the air.

"Bye!" She cheered, then turned to an annoyed Zack with a peace sign, mocking him.

The two then went to find another booth. Selina felt being watched by someone very intently from the crowd. She felt the hair on her neck rise. She turned around to see a tall man walking away behind his company, and the feeling gone.

She shrugged and enjoyed her fun.

By the time they got to the Architecture Department's booth, Selina was disappointed that they didn't do the arm wrestling anymore as she would love to see Nathan lose. She had tidied her hair and tied it up in a high ponytail and it looked quite nice.
