xxx. brings back memories

Selina happily went to school the next day. Selina felt like herself as she used her glasses again. She really missed it. Mira, Zoe, and Joy had happily welcomed her back, and the three of them had gone out to eat after school.

They talked about how she was doing with work, which Selina answered vaguely, saying it was tiring but fun. The girls updated her on what she had beem missing on at school and even got her notes from classes, which Selina was thankful for.

Their conversation went on from classes to Zack Lee, and then to her love life.

"Isn't that guy from the Vocal and Dance Department your boyfriend?" Zoe wondered.

Selina choked on her milkshake.

"What?!" She coughed. Mira patted her back worriedly.

"He's pretty cute. But he's not as handsome as my Daniel though," Joy commented with a smile.

"He's my best friend." Selina said resolutely after getting herself together. "Nothing more."

"He's always sticking around you. You've never think of him like a... Boyfriend kind of way?" Zoe questioned.

"No. Because for me..." Selina smiled softly, "He's like my family."

"Nathan. Do you like me?" Selina asked as he played her Switch on her gaming room beanbag.

"Of course. Ah shit I just died." Nathan scowled. Selina turned around in her gaming chair and seriously faced him.

"No, I mean, like-like."

Nathan paused his game.

"What?"

"In the years we've known each other, have you ever liked me more... In any way?"

Nathan went silent and put away the Switch. He scratched his head sheepishly.

"I have... Actually..."

Selina's eyes widened at that.

"It was a long time ago, but... I've tried reorganizing my feelings. I just think of you as my family now." He smiled softly.

"Sorry if I was..."

"No, no. It's alright. I'd rather not tell you I liked you as a lover and lose you from my life. So I just think of you as my sister now. Besides," Nathan crossed his arms and blushed, looking away, "I... I like someone else now..."

"What?! Who is it? Tell me!" Selina gasped.

"It's just... A crush. I will tell you when I really feel sure."

Selina warmed at that and walked to him, ruffling his hair.

"Be sure to tell me, ok?"

With that, the two laughed and continued playing their games.

"Oh god, why did you tell me to meet you at 5 am?!" Selina slouched as she rubbed her eyes.

"Catch!" Goo threw some stick which Selina caught.

"A katana?" She held the shaft and examined it curiously.

"I'm going go teach you how to use a sword, or to be exact, a katana." He grinned.

Selina laughed and got in a stance.

"I already know how to use a katana, dummy." She unsheathed the sword, "It's been very long and I'm still rusty though..."

"You learn this from your cartoons as well?" Goo smirked and got into stance.
