A couple of days had passed since our intimate moment together. The atmosphere between us changed significantly, he was more open and it was slightly overwhelming.

Nonetheless, it was a welcoming change from how I had been treated before.

There was just one problem, however. He still seemed to be hiding behind his black and white mask and as much as I believe it is his right to do so, it is also a little worrying considering he had stated his love for me.

Does he really love me or was he in love with the sex?

I mean it didn't matter, honestly it didn't. It was just a nagging thought. Yet I still couldn't help but feel mildly disappointed. I know I don't feel the way he does, I could never love a man who had betrayed my trust.

Our whole relationship is just built upon lies.

But still, other than his proclamations of love, what else has he done to show for it?

A day before, Dottore had suggested I go through with the arm amputation and told me to trust him. I can't say I do, but then he mentioned the use of 'ruin guard' technology in prosthetics.

I wasn't completely sold on it until today. He showed me what a ruin guard was.

It was terrifying.

But exhilarating, watching his men fight for their lives against a battle machine. It was almost like watching a movie except I was really there and these men were risking their lives for a stranger that just so happens to hold the affection of their harbinger.

So reluctantly, I agreed. Having a robotic prosthetic could prove to be useful, especially one made from parts of a war machine that has the capabilities to do more than what I, or any human, could do. Besides, maybe if I let him do this life-changing surgery on me I could learn to trust his abilities. He is, after all, a doctor before a murdering kidnapper.

Now, courtesy of Dottore, I was walking in a short green flowy sheer dress with a blue throw-on hood to God knows where. It had been 2 hours of this God-forsaken journey and my burning legs were starting to feel more numb than anything.

From what I had gathered, though, he was taking me to a site where active ruin guard technology thrived. Apparently, he kept tested robotic limbs there, in case of emergencies for himself.

The idea that he had to keep fake limbs inside a killing machine was rather morbid. I mean, why did he have those in the first place? Just what exactly does he do for the fatui?

As I absentmindedly pondered on his dealings with the notorious group, we finally exited the thick of the forest and entered an enormous crater, surrounded by large trees and filled with nothing but greenery and Sumeru's wildlife.

"Do you not have cars or something?" I muttered impatiently, feeling the intense heat stab my bare arms. I shouldn't be complaining, to be honest, at least I wasn't wearing a thick furry jacket or holding massive heavy weaponry like his soldiers were.
