24 hours had passed since the operation, I gathered the chip was doing just fine considering I hadn't died yet from infection or blood loss.

But I feel fragile, and the short time I had to just relax and regain my strength was clearly not enough.

Not a modicum of care was found however, I don't have the luxury to waste more time than I already have. Dottore could be on his way here as we speak and I can't let him find me yet not until I've found the right akasha terminal.

Willing myself to get up from the lab's warmed countertop, I unsteadily placed one foot down and stumbled off the metal surface. My leg was definitely not healed yet, the stitching was messy considering how much pain I had been through whilst doing it.

That didn't matter though, as long as I get back to my world I'll be okay.

I'll be fine if I survive till then.

Shaking my head, momentarily clearing the dreadful thoughts that followed my uncertainty, I shakily got onto my feet, struggled to put my trousers back on and limped over to the laboratory door.

Fingers lightly pressed against the mahogany as I turned my head to the side and listened for any noise. With no clue as to what time it was, whether it was a Tuesday or a Friday, I let my mind wander and contemplated the potential whereabouts of the akasha terminal. It has to be here somewhere, if not in one of these labs, then maybe somewhere Dottore frequents that I'm unaware of.

I hope it's in one of the labs, I'm too tired for another adventure around this massive maze of a school.

Distracted by my thinking, I wasn't aware of the eery quietness just outside, not until I attuned my hearing and breathed a little slower.

There wasn't even a soft shuffle of footsteps, not even a whisper of life.

Could it be that it was night out? Was the area vacant from students because they were all done with the day?

I unlocked the heavy wooden doors and opened them slowly, peering out into the dark, empty corridor. There wasn't a single body in sight.

Thank fuck.

No one needs to see me like this, it'll only raise suspicion.

Leaving the laboratory, I began to limp through the corridor, opening and closing doors until I found the right lab that contained what I seek.

In total, there were 5 science rooms. None of them had what I needed.

Exhausted and at the brink of collapse, my laden body made its way towards the indoor balcony and my palms clasped the marble railings that overlooked the fountain in the foyer, leaning against it and pushing my tired leg out behind me, I could feel the tension of the stitching stretch. It must have been hours later, I could see the sunrise peak over the stained glass that poured light into the reception.
